Ok, 2 Days Ago I downloaded some software from a disc for my new camcorder and everything went fine. Then for some reason last night I wanted to burn a music CD onto my laptop but my autoplay didn't kick in so I went to go manually start it and my CD/DVD drive wasn't even a choice to manually start, It disappeared. I was looking in my hardware area and apparently My CD/DVD drive is missing or corrupted.

I've tried looking for solutions. It does nothing for me, Just says searching for solutions for like 10 seconds then disappears. Also I looked for software updates for the driver and all it says is it is up to date.

Specs
Hewlett Packard dv9000
Windows Vista Home Premium
1GB Ram
105GB HD
Nvidia Graphics

Please Help and Thanks,
Zac

Have you opened your box and checked if the cable to the CD drive is still connected?

Well I have a laptop and I really don't want to take it apart and laptops are usually very compact so I doubt the cable is unconnected. I think maybe the I accidentally removed the software or something. :(

You need to do a system restore to a date where it was present.
