GIMP startup

Every time I try opening GIMP it loads real quickly but as soon as it gets to the Fonts it freezes up and then as soon as i click on the GIMP it goes to not-responding.
If I wait it'll get error reports and it recommends for me to reinstall which I have tried many times
No luck except for 1 time but after trying it 10 or so times I have given up so hopefully some one can help me get GIMP to start up.
