Problem installing Fonts to GimpShop

I've tried to install a font, 'Evanescent', to gimpshop through:
Control Panel > Fonts
and
Start > My Computer > C > Windows > Fonts
neither of these have successfully installed them
Anubis is also having trouble with this so you'd be helping two people and maybe more if you do.
Has anyone else had this problem and if so, how did you troubleshoot it?

Does the font work on any other text programs on your computer?

I had that problem too, just don't use that font. I've done everything possible to get it to show up in the fonts dialog but it won't for some reason.

And I'm using GIMP, not GIMPShop, so it may be anything GIMP-related that doesn't like that font..I dunno..

I use GIMP and all I have to do to add fonts is put files in my fonts folder: C:\WINDOWS\Fonts

Thanks - problem is that i really like the look of this font

and i never knew there was a difference between, or even a, GIMP and GIMPshop and i haven't tried it on any other program - i'll try it now and then edit my post
Edit - I just opened word and it works in there - for some reason it just isn't showing in GIMPshop..

I think there are some font types that GIMP just cant use.

what type of font is the one you are trying to use? I found a program that might do it, its called True Type Font to Postscript Type 1 Converter, I will keep looking for a better one.

Its a True Type Font file..

Can GIMPshop use the Post Script Type 1 files?

It should be able to use a True Type Font, I believe it can use Post Script Type 1 fonts but I do not have any so I am not sure.
