My local windows DNS cache is screwed. Its not a problem with my router or local dns server - as the other comp on my home network works fine. The comp cant seem to resolve DNS stuff at all.
I'm currently using a proxy server to make this message.
I have tried flushing the dns through ipconfig /flushdns but to no avail. I've had a look in services to see if the DNS service is running, and it is. I've tried restarting the DNS service, still nothing.
The problem started when I rebooted from hibernation around 2 hours ago - I tried connecting to MSN, which connected fine before hibernation, and it couldnt connect. I troubleshooted it, and it says the DNS is broken.
If anyone can actually offer any sensible advice that isnt stupid like 'reboot the computer', it would be appreciated.
Im just going to try doing a system restore now.
Never mind, problem fixed with a system restore
