Java help please

I have a problem with java this guy came to fix my comp yesterday and he messed up my java so now i cant play rs. I cant download the new java either because this shows up...

We encountered an issue while trying to automatically install Java software onto your machine.


If you encounter an error, check the top of the browser (see image above) for a yellow bar that reads "This site might require the following ActiveX control: J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 8 from 'Sun Microsystems, Inc.'. Click here to install..." Click the yellow bar and choose "Install ActiveX Control..." to allow installation to proceed

I dont have service pack 2 and this doesnt come up at the top of the screen like it says. I use slimbrowser as an internet browser though. Any solutions?

Well at the bottom it said it was for Internet Explore users, so you might have to use that to download it.

Download internet explorer from http://www.microsoft.com/ie ans java than install it. hope this helps

Well if you haven't already fixed your problem by what the other people have said then do the following: Launch IE go to http://java.com/en/download/windows_ie.jsp?begindownload=true Then if a yellow bar appears click install activex control, if a box comes up press install and you pretty much just press install and ok until it says its finished.
