If I was growing up in the 80's I would've committed suicide, having to put up with all that god awful music. Maybe there were a few good plain rock and roll bands in the 80's... ACDC's a favorite, Nirvana ain't bad either.
I have a question. Why is rap on the list? rap isn't music, and who actually chose rap on that list. It doesnt count, it's not fair. It took away votes from all the actual forms of music.
Ever since rap came along, (I won't racially discriminate- but i think you know what group of people I'm talking about {then again, not just that group likes rap, there are other people who do, it's just is mostly the group I'm referring to}) people have been starting gangs and all this violence. Being tough and being gangsta, all that crap..... the violence and gang related murders has doubled ever since the popularity of rap came about. These gang related violence and murders went up right around the time rap came along.... It's gotta stop fellas.... your egos are getting in the way and causing soooo much hate, which makes you kill. And most rap also promotes pimping, and the downgrading of girls.
so very true in so many ways. I also like alot of that older stuff, and definitely blues.. i really dont like rap, there are a few rap songs that i like, because they actually arent rapping about anything stupid. Or anything to do with violance, or rapping about how much money they have, and there spinnas on their cars or trucks. its stupid.. but yeah..
I have to agree with oldmantellah. Just that we have been raised on older more traditional stuff. The Original, the best basically. Think of it like the movies, a movie comes out, its freaken awesome, then the 2nd part comes out, like the ring 2.. and your like, this is friggin bs, such a stupid and pointless movie. Its almost like that with music, most of the older stuff is the best, the original.
But i also do like alot of new stuff. Whether it be blues, or some actual decent rap, or rock, etc.

and also almost all rap is based on something close to the artists heart, for example eminem raps about his harsh family life and how he grew up alot because thats a big part of his life and what affects him alot. stupid amatuer rappers (as in ones that dont have cds or contracts) do try to act big, ill give u that but they are just showing off cos they think theyre good but often they really arent lol. maybe u hould get the facts before u make generalisations?
