Gone

Today, my family has to say goodbye to a member...our dog. We are having her put down at 5:30 today EST. Now you may think that a pet dying is no big deal, but to that i say **** you. Any pet is a member of the family it belongs to. My family's dog, Sassy (dont ask named by my sister) Has been with my family for close to 13 or 14 years now, she was 2-3 when we got her so she is old, she is going blind and deaf and has arthritis so it's time for it to be done. To my fallen comrade in stupidity I saw a final farewell.

Sadly, I know how you feel. I had to say goodbye to my dog as well.
I grew up together with him and he's one of the best childhood memories I have.
Out of nowhere he had a heart attack and his lungs got filled with liquid. There was no cure and he was suffering every second that passed. He couldn't walk, eat or move.
I can't even describe what I felt that day, when I knew he needed to be put down.

The first few days after what happened, I always felt that something was missing, and every time I got home I still thought I would still see him at the door waiting to welcome me home (in his way).
But those are the first days. It will be hard but as time goes by, you only remember only the good times you had with your dog.

I can give you one advice:
Buy another pet as soon as you can so you never feel alone. Don't think of it as a replacement, never. Think of it as a new friend.

Yeah mine kicked the bucket too. MQ still has her as her display picture she just cna't let her go.

I got a new one now. Shes rubbish though just ******* everywhere.

I have never had a pet die on me, but I have been forced to give them away. Every single one. I hope the cat I have now will be able to stick around.

I've never had a pet myself but my dad had a few pets when he was a kid and he told me how painful it was to lose them. He had a black dog like yours named Ladybug.
