scotland or england?

OK I'm scottish and recently on xbox I've had some "friends" turn racist to me because they're english and I'm scottish, so first off there's a poll then for the english population of the forums, do you have anything against the scottish, as brad thinks being called scottish when you're not is offensive, as he announced on an earlier sbandb update but that's besides the point i want to know what the english think of the scottish

Tbh with you a lot of english guys act like ***** towards the other members of the UK - myself included. But it's half hearted and in my case meant in a joking manner. The scots seem to take it to heart and make a fuss out of being called english more than us being scottish. There *very* determind for everyone to know there not and there independent yadayada very whiney.

maybe because being assiosated with another country isn't our cup of tea? We've recieved abuse, war and strife from the english for a long time so you really can't blame us for "taking it to heart" it's bad enough when other scots pick on you without the english being racist on top of it. in no way do i generalize the english nore am i painting them with the same brush, it's just a lot of them think they're superior whereas it's not the case, i don't believe we are superior i just think for all the abuse we recieve we should be independant from England. I'd rather not be assosiated with a country full of hot air and people with ego the size of hot air ballons fueled by said hot air. That is all.

See it's scotland wanting independence and to be seperate from the UK that ***** me off. Being apart of the UK is benefitial to you. I don't see the issue myself. Don't want to be associated? Tuff. Your attached to us and frankly your just a tiny little area on a tiny island as it is. It's like a state in America suddenly deciding it wants to be it's own country.

If it was down to me you'd all become england; theres your independence. Howeverr as the country is currently run by a moron and we've long lost our old diplimatic skills of "agree with us or we'll just invade" all i can do is remember what happened when the Irish wanted independence and how that turned out and hope we stick to our guns with the Scottish as we did them.

Call it ego or whatever but things would be much simpler if we just accepted we're a single country we're to small to be fighting and seperating up further in my book. Together we're strong and seperate we're simply rather weak. As it goes being apart of the UK is working fine and i don't see why some Scots want out.

SO you're now saying you want it to all become england? I'll hold back the temptation to rant about past wars and other history seeing as you havn't made one racist comment. I wouldn't be suprised if that was the case there would be an uproar with every scotsman in the country if we became par of england.

I also doubt there will be anything like the IRA uprise like there was with Ireland and never mention that again my Dad fought against them and lost friends to them.

Of course i do. Ireland and wales too. It's going to happen weither it be because Europe becomes one country or before hand. On the other hand I'm perfectly happy to remain as the UK it's some Scottish that seem to want out and there only reasoning half the time is because they don't like us. Reality is Scottish, english, Irish, welsh..well maybe not the welsh but the other 3 there all the same.

normally I'm fine with the way it is, but now that i've had stupid steroetypes and people hating me for being scottish.. It makes me not want to have anything to do with the english, but like i said i'm not painting you all with the same brush

I can see where your coming from with independance. It still annoys me when people say I'm British, I see myself as English through and through, but I really should get over it.

Turning against people because of where they are from, especially a country that has the same culture and speaks the same language as you is a pure ego boost. Try not to let it get to you, and if it does, you simply shouldn't want to be "friends" with people that are that shallow anyway.

trust me i don't want to be "friends" with them.. i hate being called brittish as well, i wonder if there's any other scottish forumer here? well that's not the point. thanks for being one of the decent few *high 5's*
