I just got an automated phone call from Purolator saying that my Dell order would be delivered from 9 to 5 Monday.
There is a period of a few days when I absolutely cannot be home. The phone call said the driver would leave instructions if I am not home.
But, I don't like the not knowing...
Does anybody know what will happen if I'm not home when the delivery is attempted?
I imagine I could just go to their warehouse to pick it up, but I'm just curious.
I live in Edmonton, Canada, so I figure there will be something involving Canada Post?

Thanks,
Bryan

You can probably call them and rearange a time that suits you better. It's a pain for them and you if you aren't there so yeah..

As for what happens you'll most likely just get a note through your letter box telling you they tried to deliver and failed and ask you call them or something, rearange a delivery or whatever.

They will leave you with a slip. That slip will contain pickup information. You will most likely have to go pick it up at the depot. That is what happened when my Xbox was returned.

That sounds a lot better than UPS. They just leave my packages at the front door... :?

They leave packages at the front door only when the sender of the package does not request for someone to personally accept the package. Or at least that's what FedEx does. I can't say for sure UPS is the same way. If the delivery is valuable, the company sending it will usually request that you be there personally to accept it or sign for it.

And I have no idea how Purolator does it.

Spoiler for Nietszche Quote:

But what did such a Teuton afterwards look like when he had been "improved" and led into a monastery? Like a caricature of a human being, like an abortion: he had become a "sinner," he was in a cage, one had imprisoned him behind nothing but sheer terrifying concepts... There he lay now, sick, miserable, filled with ill-will towards himself; full of hatred for the impulses toward life, full of suspicion of all that was still strong and happy. In short, a "Christian"... - Twighlight of the Idols

Locked. As it is now tuesday, package is assumed to be delivered since topic creator has not been back.

If not, purolater only gives you a few days to go pick it up from their depot or to contact them before they ship it back to the sender.
