Help! I'm Really Desperate...

I can't play runescape any more, I need help to make it work again. I really need anyone and/or everyone's help.

Recently my sister, always liked to download songs right from the internet, had found a place for her to wornload some mp3's. Little did she knew that the mp3's size file were big. Their size range from 3000kb to 8000kb. She had managed to download around 1300 different mp3 songs.

Now it's time you do some maths, lets assume one mp3 file is 3000kb, there is 1300 of them, how many spaces does the mp3 files use up?

Total size of the mp3 files = (3000 x 1300) kb
= 3900000 kb

Convert them from kb to mb = (3900000 / 1000) mb
= 3900 mb

My computer can't hold that much of space, thus making my runescape game lag. I tried to log in, but when it was at the part where your screen loads the map and such, theres just the chat dialog, my inventory, etc. but the world is still in total darkness, in fact, I've been loading it for almost 30 minutes and still it's in the black screen.

I've told my sister to stop downloading mp3's but since she's older than me by 8 mere years she ignore my advice. Now im so <censored> that I threatened to delete all her mp3 files, although i hear some of them, and now I've been thinking on how to make my game smooth again.

She said that I downloaded TOO MUCH SOFTWARE. In fact, I only downloaded the essential things, like Ad-Aware, Spybot Search And Destroy, SwiftSwitch and RuneScape Xplorer. They are way less than the mp3's and she could even dare to accuse me of that. The only thing I knew that I downloaded which had 100 mb is Adobe Photoshop CS 15 Day Trial, which i uninstalled due to the lag.

I tried to uninstall the unnneeded stuff in my computer, but to no avail. The file size were all too small to actually reduce the lag -- Wow, this is the first time I had depended on oversized files. I really need help on this. Anyone who got ideas to reduce the lag please post here. I hope I will find the answer that I seek. Thanks in advance.

Thats what i call a problem...You could delete some of the mp3 files. There are so many of them that your sister may not notice some of them deleted :twisted:

id say its definetly ur sis' downloading ways. shes gotta stop if u have any hope of playing rune minus the lag. usually its not the file space on ur comp but the amount of internet usage thats being contributed to different files at the time. if you have a slow internet connection to start with (e.g dial up *blah!*) then you will have a higher chance of lag. then on top of that youve got a number of net windows open and shes downloading at the same time youve got no chance. really sounds like youre in a pickle.

if you have 2 computers you could use a mass USB storage device to transfer all the music files on to the other computer. the other option is burn all the music to cds and then delete the files from the computer (probably a crap idea cos youll have tons of cds lol and no way of backing up the songs if the discs get scratched). another way to do it would be to put the music on an mp3 player like an ipod or something.

im still really not sure as to how your lag is occuring cos i download about 20-30 songs a day (not that big tho) and often have them downloading at the same time im playing rune, checking e-mails, playing music, etc. and i have 0 lag. im no computer expert but id say ur comp is stuffed and you need a new one lol. or the speed of it could just be really really slow. another option is to close the window and start again and see if it works then or play in low detail if you arent already. hope u figure out something

somehow i tend to lag more on low detail than high detail. but about the burning of mp3s, that sounds good, i could burn a whole album of songs and sell to my friends for cheap prices :twisted:

kick her in the nuts!!!!! or, if she is by any chance a female....that won't work

but seriously..just delete it all. 1200 songs takes a hell of alot time to download. how long does it take to re-install rs (her pathetic little revenge) - not long!

My cousin downaloads too much things and made her computer really in bad shape..
Few days ago, she listened too our suggestion, to get rid of the junk, and go her computer rebooted..
Now it's working find..
So I say just delete it..
If you really want to play, you got to do something

she usually listens to the same old songs, like only 30 of em at a time. most of them were just downloaded for fun, i think. now i have a new problem, everything's ok but i lagged again when i wanna merchant at world 1, which leads me to alot of scams which i was too lagged and cant decline

heh, i did a big step to "justice". i just deleted all the mp3's in the comp. now i have no more probs with lag but im doomed when my sis gets home from work!!
