o.O I find it...scary that we might have to resort to drinking toilet water because we're running out of fresh water to drink.

Any opinions on this?

If it's clean, i don't really mind. The only worry would be getting unclean water come through. XD

What's wrong with it? It's just as clean as any other water. :/

I wouldn't say it's a water shortage as much as it is just the same amount of water but for a growing population. I'm pretty sure it is still raining the same amount as always, just that there are more people taking the water.

Makes me happy I live in a small population area, right meh South Dakota homie? :D

The water in the back of the water is perfectly clean, it's just drinking water.
You run into problems if you're drinking out of the real basin thing. That will probably be contaminated.

Uh, am I the only one with a water filter?

If you're that worried about drinking toilet water, get one of those.

Just immagine:

A friend comes over to spend the night, you go into the bathroom in plain view to him and he sees you flush the toilet. Then get a cup of the water and drink it.

Obviously not too appealing.

I really can't help but laugh at some of these replies. This article you linked to is a very shoddily-written one with an obviously biased title. Of course no one wants to drink something referred to as "toilet water". But, do any of you realise that the current normal filtration processes strain out the same bacteria found in untreated water? You'll be getting the same drinkable water, but it will be more heavily-filtered. There is no reason why anyone should be like "EW OMG TOILET WATER WTF!" since the water we drink mostly comes from places that aren't very appealing. Do you think that a river that has been polluted in since the Industrial Revolution is going to produce better water than recycled and re-filtered water? That's preposterous. This seems like a good alternative for this place to consider if it's having trouble supplying water to its community.
