Are teleivision, movies, and music responsible for teen violence, why so? I just want to know what your opinions are on this topic.

Nothings responsible but the person in question.

People can blame it on what they like, i don't care. Your in control of your own life and if you choose to act like some mindless thug then that's your choice, that's the sort of retard you are.

And they always end up picking a fight they can't win and get it nocked out of them.

idk. sometimes, it probably can be, but other times teens just go and beat the **** out of kids cuz they're ***** off or got in an argument. it depends what the situation is.

some kid beat the **** out of another kid after school last week. the police showed up and started handcuffing all the kids who watched, and all the kids envolved. fights happen at the park by my school all the time.

No television shows, movies, or songs are responsible for teen violence.

Would you blame a gun for a murder? Or the person who sold the gun for a murder? While media puts the ideas in the heads, its the person who executes them, though that person still has control over right/wrong.

I'm inclined to go with Creepy, it really depends on the individual. It's like those kids posing as Sephiroth and... um... I don't play FF so I forgot the other one XD, either way, they were impressionable idiots. The blood is running thinner.

Yes, in my opinion I do disagree more than I do agree. I think it has a lot to do with the parents. They should be watching/knowing what their children are dealing with. And as mentioned before, it's the not music, games, movies, etc that causes it. It's the child's demented mind that causes it. However, the movies, music, games, etc can be a catalyst in helping them demented minded children to generate such bad behaviours and violant ideas.

Its mostly video games that cause this I think.

Like Grand Theft Auto and Final Fantasy as previous stated. (Although I don't understand how that could have happened.)

I think it's the parents. Think about it, from the earliest age the child sees the parents, and how they act. Yes they see other people but, especially at a young age, they will be around their parents almost 24/7 and the majority of the time the parent will control what the child has access to. I hate these parents who you see on TV who have brat kids and act like they've done nothing wrong.

I agree with brad - its the parents fault. I listen to some incredibly violent music that has been supposedly linked to satanic murder and torture in Italy, I like violent movies and films, and like playing very violent video games, but im a pacifist.

Your parents are the people who have the largest influence on you from a young age. Disfunctional, incompetent parents breed disfunctional, misbehaving children.

I think maybe at around the age of 5 to 6, you can tell whether someone is going to grow up to be a menace to society, and that is the time when the child should be taken from the patents and put in care, with good foster parents who would bring the child up well. It's probably harsh, but in some cases it is necessary.

Final Fantasy! That game isn't violent like Grand Theft Auto. It's Grand Theft Auto. Final Fantasy is killing monsters with swords in the future and using magic. It's rated T. It's those people killing M games. Like Grand Theft Auto and zombie killing games.

I play violent video game . I am a killer ? No. I am agressive ? No

I like horror movie and I like movie with lot of blood. I am a killer ? No. I am agressive ? No...

I look like a killer ? No

Btw, I MAYBE look a BIT agressive but I am not. I think I would even not beat someone...Lol

Yeah, I'm getting tired of people in my neighbourhood/district saying music/games/movies are promoting bad behaviours with teens. I keep denying it to them, but they don't listen.

You clearly have no clue what I'm talking about. In a different topic, in which you haven't obviously read.

Quote:
In Germany, Final Fantasy is now being called a killerspiele ("killer game"), likely adding fuel to the movement against violent games. Of course, Final Fantasy isn't often singled out for its portrayal of violence, which by most measures is never gratuitous. But when two teenage boys, calling themselves 'Sephiroth' and 'Reno', allegedly stab a couple to death and kidnap another female, it undoubtedly leads to some unfortunate finger pointing. That the two boys also had a copy of Final Fantasy VII installed on a computer doesn't help the spread of sensationalism.

It's unfortunate that during these times of inexplicable grief and confusion there's a tendency to try to rationalize the irrational. Two boys playing Final Fantasy, calling each other Sephiroth and Reno, does not engender such tragedy.

I was using Final Fantasy as an example of why Video games is partially the reason for teen violence.

Heres the link back to that topic.
