Why Sony can shuve there consoles

High street games shops have been told by Sony that there will be no PS3 pre-owned sections in their stores as it will be illegal for customers to sell any next-gen PlayStation games that they've bought, retail sources have revealed to GamesRadar.

It seems that Sony is planning to adopt a licensing system that will mean gamers won't own the PS3 titles that they've paid money for. Instead, they will only be purchasing the licence to play the game and that the software itself will still be Sony property - meaning that the disc won't be the customer's to sell.

We assume that the thinking behind this move will ultimately be to stop PS3 games being resold several times - which currently snatches potential sales away from Sony - and to counter the impression in consumers' minds that games are only really worth their pre-owned price and are not worth buying new.

When we contacted Sony, it issued us with the following statement: "We have made all of the official announcements at E3 and cannot make any further comments at this time. We will be announcing more news running up to PlayStation 3's launch."

I seriously hope the PS3 drops dead this year and nintendo gets back to number one. At least they give a dam, im never, ever buying a sony product. There a bunch of tards.

Even if Sony fail, nintendo still have microsoft to beat, and that ain't gonna happen, nintendo are a cheap second rate gaming company. Look at all their previous efforts, that's enough to tell you sony is better than nintendo and always will be.

Nintendos past proves they're better and can do better.

Looking at the new sonic game on the wii it's 10000 times better than the same old garbage microsoft or sony can pull.

Anyway this is NOT sony vs MS/Nintendo so lets drop that.

Greedy bunch of nobodys, i hope they fail miserably. At least MS and nintendo are trying to produce a console people would want and love, Sony don't seem to give a dam and instead just try to leech the market even more.

Okay, unless they change this the PSP will be the last Sony system I buy.

The PS3 is way overpriced, we can't buy the games and they don't give a crap. That's beautiful.

And at least the Wii is a reasonable price going for an estimated $250 USD...

Yeah, the DS was an absolute failure, but dude! Gameboy!
Possibly the most popular and succesfull console ever, and it's a handheld.. Sony's PS1 wasn't all that good, and the N64 was leagues above it anyway, just nintendo don't have the licences to a lot of the games that Sony can manage to get ahold of, so they end up with games like Zelda, but if you don't like zelda games.. There's something wrong with you.
Nintendo are by no means second rate, but yes, they do still have Microsoft to compete with, and Microsoft have pushed ahead, with their 360, so it will be a hard console for Nintendo to follow, but they followed the XBox with the gamecube, a small cheap, easy and just as good alternative, and the Wii will be too.

Sony are taking people for a joke, and considering Microsoft's market entry pirces, so are they.

Nintendo are still gonna lead the market share by a mile, and Sony are just gonna be even more unpopular.

I love my DS. It has to be the most enjoyable thing since the gameboy.

And Brad hasn't played a Mario game (so i hear

It's awesome the pen is very good and the games are a lot of fun + enjoyable.

And yes, I think the problem with games is that Sny offers more for licsenses or beats Nintendo to them.

What so the PS3 is the same as the PS2, and the PS1, and the PSX, etc... just slightly bigger?

My problem with both the 360 and the ps3 is. They are NO different.

They've just stuck a new graphics card in and made a few changes. Then slapped a stupid price tag on it. You can get the same deal on a PC for cheaper.

The wii has graphics and yet has a unique and one of a kind way of contrling your characters. It's no longer sitting on your behind smashing buttons it's involving movement, it's new, it's creative and no doubt it's fun.

All Sony has to offer is graphics, sadly people seem to buy that.

I'm definitely getting a wii now, despite the name.

A PS3, when it first comes out in England, with an extra controller, a memory card, and one game, will be somewhere around the region of £500. For you americans here, thats more than $900.

I would personally prefer to have a PS3 than a Wii, but because of this ******* thing Sony have just done, i may decide to join the rebellion and buy a Wii. Or i'll just buy more ram and stick with my computer.

Sony's problem is that they are too power-hungry, and think they are the best and everything. They're actually not. With TVs and stuff, Philips are **** good, and a lot cheaper than Sony. This new effort with the PS3 games just proves that Sony want more power.

Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
