Where did l33t originate?

its funny because,i mean who thought of 1337?
i think it originated around counterstrike period and people started using it their..discuss what u think here

1337 is the god of all noobs..he is the dumbest of all noobs and retards in existence and thats why he is their god. its in my opinion that they were too stupid to think of a name for their god so they called it 1337. then they began chanting 1337's name in various noob uprisings and worship services and those of us with intelligence decided to try and adopt the term as our own and turn it civilized..it was only partly successful unfortunately

Ok long story..... Back in the early stages of online play ie: action games. There was a group of people called the good people that called noobs noobs. But one day the noobs got fed up with it and started a cult. As a god came down and told them to sacrifice 4 people, then call him down again. So the noobs went out and got their internet tormentors. When they sacrificed them they called their god. He told them to eat the bodies so they did. The god now said that they must use the sacrificed's first letter in their name to call their cult. So they puked up their wallets and got out their drivers license. And when they opened them up the first one said L the other said E the other said E and the last said T. So they then went to a t-shirt press and asked them for 1000 copies of LEET on the front of black shirts with LEET in red. But there was a problem with the presses and every E turned to a 3 and every 3 turned to an E and every t turned to a 7 and every 7 turned into a t! When the shirts where shipped and opened by the cult they where astonished to see L337 on their shirts! They called their god down and asked him if this was his doing. He said yes (it wasnt his just wanted to make them think he was cool) and said you are the L337 go out and kill everything in your path on the internet! But we dont have computers we sold them to get shirts the cult said.

o.0 Interesting theories but this is where 1337 came from... todays "1337" is from the "1337 H4x0rz" whom made up 1337 to speak to other hackers as to keep from being figured out. 1337 Is a shortened version of Elite aka Elite Hackers.

Well... that's not where it originated though...

The noobs have adapted it as their language because they think it R0XX0rZ, when in reality everyone thinks they are just a total idiot.
