Atheist as well. However I fully respect the options of others.
However I do get annoyed by people who bomb conversations with god all the time. Hope I don't start a war by saying this...
Example: You get of the Bus and there's an old lady delivering papers that tell you to join their religion.

I'm Presbyterian and proud of. I go to church like a couple times a month so I'm into quite a bit.

I used to be a hardcore Catholic, but I was never baptized or anything. I started to stop believing in God a couple months ago, and haven't looked back. When I was a Catholic, I would hardly ever pray, and I've been to church around 5 times total.

Tbh with you putting one word in a post whether it answers the question at hand or not is still rather spamish in my book. It's a forum it's meant for discussion..you come here if you want to discuss not post one word and bugger off again. Wouldn't hurt to explain your reasoning for being an atheist and all that.

It'd be a pretty boring place if we all just answered in a word or two. Just saying.

How was you a hardcore catholic if you didn't pray or go to church? I can't claim to be an expert because my religious experiance went as far as being baptized as a baby and ended there but that doesn't seem very hardcore.

As for myself I'm not no. I like to think being good and doing good things will result in good things happening. It's a load of *******. But it's the best way to look at life for me personally. The same with religions, I'm sure deep down they all know it's ******* but it's better to look for something good than pay attention to half the bad **** that goes on.

I am actually a rather 'hard-core' atheist, but I don't go around shoving it in peoples' faces, but if I get into a religious debate, I let it all out.

I understand what you're saying. I just thought it was silly because the statement in the first post was to just state your religion. And as I've learned from joining this forum, it's better to say as little as possible with topics like this one because a lot of people can get really offended/upset over it.

But, in the spirit of it all I'll explain why I'm agnostic:

I consider myself agnostic (more leaning towards the atheist side) because no one knows what happens after death. No one knows if there is a god or if there isn't one. Any religion could be right or wrong or a god could exist that no one worships. It doesn't matter now. What matters now is to live your life the way you see fit and not be scared into committing good deeds so you feel like you aren't going to hell. See, I hope that last statement doesn't offend anyone but I'm sure it will. Let me get this straight, I'm not saying Christians only do good deeds so they ensure their ticket to heaven, it was just a way of expressing my point.

i was born, raised, and baptized christian, but officially a Maronite because I'm Lebanese, but it was basically the same to Catholicsm so i blended right in.
my views on religion changed as i hit late 13s, early 14s. I began to doubt in the existence of a deity but it can not be proven true or false, which is why i took up Agnosticsm.
but people can believe in whatever the hell they want, it doesn't phase me. I even have a Muslim friend, it's all good.

I was a non-religious Catholic for most of my life (basically just called myself Catholic because my parents were).

I came to the realization of how ridiculous faith is when I was in my senior religion class and they started making fun of some other religion's version of heaven (as if theirs had any more evidence... :roll:

) All it really takes to see how crazy your religion is is to study other ones.

I find that most people who say they are 'agnostic' tend to be atheists who are just too afraid to say it. If you really think neither side can ever know, it's just not true. What atheists believe is no different than, say, being an a-unicornist. While it is true that neither side can KNOW 100% that there are no unicorns, it's pretty **** likely that there aren't any, and we should say there aren't any until there's evidence for them.

Well no. I don't believe that there is a god, but I also don't believe that a god does not exist. I wouldn't be a afraid of calling myself an Atheist, especially here on the internet. I simply do not firmly believe in either the existence nor absence of a god.

I was baptized a christian when I was very young, but I am non-religious as far as anything else goes.
