I dont see what Marijuana has to do with Heroin; it's a completely different substance.

People use Marijuana as a relaxant, most aren't looking for the hype of speed or the depression of heroin or alcohol. I agree with Brad to an extent.

The basics between Tobacco/Nicotine and Marijuana

-Cigarettes do more physical damage such as: Emphysemia, lung and throat cancer.
-Marijuana does more mental damage such as: Short-long term memory loss, coma's, and when used excessively; Death.

People fail to understand that because something is illegal, it automatically makes it one of the worst things imaginable. Granted - it's illegal for a reason, but if it were up to me, I'd legalise and tax Marijuana and Illegalise cigarettes.

But it's a cycle - instead of buying Marijuana for $100 and ounce or whatever, you'd be buying tobacco for $100 an ounce, either way, the government can't win.

I don't know much about Marijuana to be honest but I was under the impression nobodys ever died directly from it, where are you getting your information that people have? Again, I could be wrong because I've not really got much clue about effects of long term usage, just curious.

Marijuana can be a gateway drug. It's stupid to say it can't be because any drug CAN be. It just depends on the situation. My sister switched from marijuana to crack because she was high, she was hanging out with people she didn't know, and a guy gave her crack but she thought it was marijuana. That was the first night she sold her body for more crack. Yes, she didn't necessarily choose to switch, but because she was hanging out with people that were smoking both I believe it is a gateway drug.

Anyway, I don't really care if it gets legalized. It would be smart to make it really expensive with high taxes. I'm just tired about hearing if it should get legalized or not. People are going to do it regardless. People under the drinking age still drink, should we have a law that states teenagers are allowed to drink alcohol too? Life goes on. No one listens to those laws anyway.

my dad used to be on it, long term effects weaken the immune system andf cause respiritory problems but beyond that not much is know so that may be why

I meant decriminalized. I honestly don't care if you are doing drugs, it doesn't effect me.
Selling drugs etc should be illegal but not possesion or use.

What good is throwing someone in prison or punishing them because of what they are consuming?

Yes, it is no where near as bad as drunkenness, depending on who you are. Drunkenness weakens the senses some people even become violent. Weed on the other hand makes you chill almost tired.

I'll admit drinking can cause more changes within shorter time but it's not as addictive as weed as far as i know

For your own use, maybe it should be legal. For selling, it should not.

Simply because every stupid moron of life who sell drugs, will go to schools, sell them to children and turn them to druggies. They'll beg for more drugs and the seller will make them do ''A favor'' if they dont have money.

Is that what your want? Think of the children, their brains aren't fully developped, They can't foresee every possible danger. I dont give a **** if you take drugs, but for god sakes, dont let uncarefull people become like you.

Then if it's only for your own use, if you die off it, it would be your **** problem. So you would have to take it at your own risk, like cigarettes. (It's legal, but if you die from cancer, it's your problem)
