Agreed, you spend more money just driving to the store and buying a toothbrush then putting your current one in the microwave. The only thing I can think of that you have to spend in putting in the microwave is about 50 walking steps.

Okay, there are two major flaws to some of the things being said here:

1. "Tupperware" is not the same type of plastic as toothbrushes. Microwaves-safe plastics are designed so that little or no chemicals are leeched out during heating. The same can't be said for toothbrushes, so there is no way to accurately say whether or not heating a toothbrush in a microwave is entirely safe (unless you're a scientist).

2. "Just buy a new toothbrush"? Those end up in landfills, y'know. I know most of us don't see, or come into frequent contact with, landfills but they do exist.

I usually just put my toothbrush under hot water for a few seconds. This is the first i've heard of people putting their toothbrushes in a microwave, though :o

Oh, right, I forgot. :(

When I take my showers at night, I brush my teeth in the shower (where I rinse for at least 3 minutes under the hot water)

Iunno how I forgot that

sterilizing your toothbrush before u brush your teeth with it, why would u bother? any bacteria on it is going to be either rinsed off or killed by the toothpaste bubbles and mouthwash like those are designed to do anyhow. throw it away every few months like usual and save yourself some time, power, money, stress, brain cells, etc.
