anyone belive the world would end in the year 2012 dec 21?

Someone posted a topic about this a while back .. but there are so many ways people come up with the world ending it's not even funny. Unless there's scientific proof that an asteroid or whatnot is going to hit Earth and kill off humanity on that day (which, you think we could have technology to stop it in the next 4 years), I'll say no.

I think it depends what you consider the end of the world.
I consider mass famine and violence everywhere on the earth the end of the world but it's not going to happen in 2012.
I believe that when we run out of oil or come close to running out everything that we know will be gone and that everyone, even those in first world countries will rush governments and mass violence with erupt along with massive famines due to the lack of funding and security for farmers.
And then: the dark ages will come to the 21st century. The cycle will continue unless a totally renewable source of energy is found. (One that doesn't require materials made with oil/oil energy)
