They could sue the maker of the baseball, the kid who hit the baseball, or the owner of the land they were playing on, but it would all end with the same outcome: a shining example of stupidity. They can blame whoever they want to make them feel better, but accidents happen unfortunately (especially unfortunate in this case :( )
