We do. But since we hear ourselves everyday, We think we don't. Stereotypes are also associated with accents. Most people think of American accents as Texas Cowboys and English accents with people discussing the latest croquet match over a cup o' tea. But it really isn't. Im sure if i went to Australia, people wouldn't be saying "G'day mate" like there is no tomorrow. But maybe, eh?

most likely not..people in australia dont usually say 'G'day mate' at all..it only happens very rarely with the hicks out in the country. and even tho i live here and speak you know..like i always speak obviously..i still know in the back of my mind that we DO have an accent. just like everyone does...just some people see it differently i guess

Accents are funny things. You speak it so you don't know what it sounds like. I've always wondered what the typical US accent sounds like to others...

I dont think you can call british talk an accent, because that is the unaltered form of english, the base sound. The you add on thing to make it US, Aus, NZ, SA, etc.

But yeah I havent thought that through.
