to some of you out there but this sums up how I feel about Snowden and PRISM quite accurately.

Basically says that Snowden is a traitor and had no right to dismantle on his own what was pre-established by the government agency. In the video he also goes on to talk about how a program like this would be set up to be used as a background check to corroborate intelligence that appeared elsewhere. As an example if they got a piece of intelligence in Pakistan they'd then go back to the data that was gathered by the program to check to see if it was valid and find out if there were any elements acting in the US.

Okay here is how I feel about this. (Watch out this might be a long one)

As an american I have no problem with what they are doing on a moral or ethical level. Things changed after 9/11 and the world is simply not the same. They are doing it (for what I feel) is the right purposes. They are doing it to defend this country and stop terrorists from planning and executing an attack. Who knows how many people have been stopped so far due to this tactic. If you have nothing to hide then you shouldn't really have a problem with this. Our government doesn't care what you are saying via e-mail or on the phone or over text unless it has to do with the safety of the mass.

Now. Here is where we get into the issue. There is no line drawn. Technology is so new and rapidly expanding that there is no way to protect people.

When the founders of this country were amending the constitution in 1791 they were looking towards the future. They looked what had happened in France and in other countries where the people were oppressed by the government and devised a plan to stop anything like that from happening again by allowing the citizens of the United States to bear arms and form a militia if, God forbid, there ever need to be one.

Now we look to places like Syria, Libya, and now Turkey. What is fueling all those riots and protests? What is connecting all those people and empowering them to stand up to their government? The Internet. Social Networking. THAT is our weapon of today. The ability to communicate is taken for granted and is one of the greatest tools that we have at our disposal if we ever needed to stand together. Do we have an oppressive government at the moment? No. Is it feasible that we could have one in the future? Absolutely. Some of the leaders of the countries where riots and protests are taking place were "democratically" elected. It is not a foolproof system.

And that is why there needs to be some line drawn in the sand as to the control that our government can have over technology and the monitoring of such activities. Technology is an unbelieve tool and while we should attempt to protect ourselves there also needs to be some sort of line of control that the government can have.
