We're too blind to see that mysterious and magic creatures, which we, invented exist? There's just not really anything pointing toward them being real. I mean, they are part of pop culture because of stories. People wrote those stories to pass time.
But then, maybe, by some weird coincidence, our ancestors came up with many creatures that are actually real, and are very good at hiding. Probably not though.
