Hwaa - Guess Who's Back to Rant.

Hello RSBers (more specifically the ones who know me and I respect.(That makes about 5 people))

To get to the point skip the paragraph below.

One of my pipe dreams has always been to have my own RS based fansite to which I controlled all incoming content. Recently I banished this dream to the back of my mind after losing faith in RuneScape as a community. I had actually documented so much information in the hope that one day this dream might become a reality, however I kept it just as a personal reference when my internet was being ***** or the tip.it servers had gone down.

My point is that bots have become my favourite type of player, they are quiet and reserved, keep to themselves and provide raw materials at a consistent and reasonable price. Unlike the degenerate scum who try to rob you blind, and think that because I'm a 68 with a legends cape (yes I lost Hay) that my pockets are deeper than my thoughts (which they aren't, I'm on a limited budget to do every quest again and I wouldn't have 213QP in 20 days if it wasn't thanks to the donations from a Certain Friend©®).

Now when I first came to my realization that RuneScape was becoming a social slum on the way down to comparing with Habbo Hotel I thought I would just see a certain stereotype deteriorating to the level of 4chan trolls. Yet I am starting to see every single one dropping in IQ, and since I started *my new account* I have only met 3 people I would consider worthy of the same level of respect I gave the average scaper 3 years ago. And I have been playing about 6 hours a day and not just going to my regular haunts.

I never thought I would get too frustrated with pures but over the last month I have noticed a growing level of obnoxiousness, the worst case being told to 'run along noob' after offering help. It's not as if I was wearing a snelm with full ham and a training sword. Generic pures are one thing (who are probably geared up for lv 3 wild trash talking and don't realize that I don't care that "I culd own ur main") but arrogance from otherwise fairly respectful looking scapers is another, I'm not going to go into specifics here but just because you have a dragon skirt, med helm and granite platebody does not mean you are extremely rich and should be worshipped by anyone who is of a lower combat.

I could never right a rant about the cultural degenerates without mentioning Cwars Trash. I'm not sure how old the average good example of Cwars Trash is but I'm going to guess 8, and they bugged mommy for a membership and mommy gave in because she couldn't put up with the squealing. These types range from 20-70 and usually have 2 or 3 pieces of red/blue castle wars armour, some gnome clothing and possibly a gnome amulet. They do not understand that they are noobs and are referred to by decent players (if they still exist) as cannon fodder (phrase coined during the first World War; new recruits who were sent in first and nearly always torn to shreds by enemy cannon fire).

The last paragraph is dedicated to the average player, they think they're really original with their black mystic top, dragon skirt and lederhosen hat, yeah, I haven't seen that outfit before. And let's not forget the mighty bearers of the fletching (or/and) cooking capes, because there are only 50,000 of you (collective approximation),that means you only make up 1/30th of the population. I wonder how much that figured has jumped since the introduction of skillcapes?

Two more bones I have to pick, when I went to Shane's drop party (tbh I wanted some seeds and it's not like they grow on trees) I was the only one there with a legend cape. About HALF were fletching/cooking and the majority of the rest were obsidian. If you wear your legends cape regularly, despite having a skill cape/obsidian/fire then you deserve a medal.

AND

Spelling/Grammar/Punctuation: If you don't use it (especially in forum threads) then you aren't a fluent typer. Be ashamed.

Apologies for any sentences that don't make sense, but I have an excuse that I will tell you if you manage to find something incoherent.

What an excellent rant. I, as a respectable member of the Runescape, (or at least would like to think so.) Would like to give you the utmost thanks into saying what I have thought for the past 3 years, into such a simplistic rant, that in my mind, a not quite average Runescaper could comprehend.

Oh, and by the way. Welcome back if you're staying, and if not, keep up the great ranting :wink:

Who say's I'm back, I just wrote that while bored stiff crafting for Lunar Diplomancy. I'm only back online again since I completed Desert Treasure, started crafting, then decided I would check if I made any errors and to see how good it sounds.

Anyway thanks very much, but I'm not posting regularly.

I have an equally long rant flaming you...but I opted not to post. The reason is basically, you are flaming a whole bunch of people because you don't like them...and they don't fit the mold you have conceived for Runescape.

I think the majority of us can agree with the flame. Runescape is filled with little whiney pures who think they are better than everyone else. And yes, it is also full of those 3rd graders who can't even spell. Here's what you do: Turn off public chat and trade. I'm sure you have enough people on your Friends List to keep you company.

But come on, you are ranting against me because I like to wear my Cooking Cape? I mean, every now and then I will take out the Lunar Cape and pop it on, but does it really matter? Explain that one please...

And ofcourse, spelling/grammar/punctuation is always important, no matter if you're playing an online game, or writing a post on BnB. I find it sad when you are flamed by players after correcting some noob who can't spell "you" or "are".

congratulations. you've just summed up the various attitudes of all the 5th graders in runescape. seriously, thats what they are. no matter what they have or do, they think they're better because they don't' think anyone has done it before. once players get into 7-8th grade, they usually start to become more mature.

i don't type with capitalizations on names, starts of sentences, or "i"s, but i still follow most grammar and sentence structure. so i think i pass.

also, proud to say i've never owned an obsidian cape for more than a day, but you can't tell me that i should wear my legends cape with preference over my quest cape :/ its just not fair. i think quest is the only cape i wear anymore.

lastly, pm me your new rsn please? :mrgreen:

do you really need to criticize everything he says? a majority of players at least dislike all of the players he mentioned. his assumptions on background details might be off a bit, but the attitudes they have are accurate enough.

Very Glad to see you back, I missed the old membership days of Gotekn and having you and me doing random stuff. Also I hope your account is up and moving, and that I'm extremely glad to see one of the old timer scapers back in action.

Also, if you didn't do the rant, I might have done one similar, greats points made.

I can see where you're coming from here. The main reason macroers are hated is because if someone is trying to fish and there is a macroer, its gonna take most of the fish before the real player can get them.

Correct me if I'm wrong but, in Runescape, everyone gets the fish at the certain speed of their level, the only thing to do with the macroers lagging up the world.

I also think you mean woodcutting, because they will chop down the tree first, before anyone else can get some. If that just happens, hop worlds, work at it to get more wood, or find and abandoned spot. If all that fails, become a member.

And if you think about it like I am, without macroers; prices will shoot very high up, lots of items not being produced anymore, and the semi-stable runescape community will go into the depression.
