Watch out for this email hacker going around

OK. This is an email that i supposedly got from jagex:

Subject: Activity verify process
Date: 11 March 2005 00.52

Hi ,

We want to colculate all active users with active email adress.Login link below , to verify your activation :

(I might get a waring if I actually post the link that was here)

OK. First of all Jagex will NEVER email you. You will recieve any messages from Jagex via the runescape messenger thingy. Second of all, the grammar and spelling in this email really stinks (?colculate?) (?adress?). Also, the link takes you to a different site (some foreign free server). I know this because when I clicked on the link to take me to the "main menu" on rs, it gave me a free server error. This is a pretty obvious scam and I have already sent a message to Jagex about it, but I wanted you to know about it.

yes it was an email....I'd take a screenie of my deleted items folder, but i have to go, I'll get to it later

you think by now... they would try and attack younger ppl or at least at newly created forums or something... or they would just stopped by now.

man you know what jagex needs to do. on the main page, in bold letters say
"jagex will NEVER E-MAIL YOU!" in size 48 font right below news and updates thing

First of all, how do they get ur e-mail adress, do they hack it? or do u give the hackers it?

i got it 2 and gave out my other name and stuff and nothing happened....
i used to have 3 members accounts 1 is members the rest arent ne more
i got that message and i did it and nothing happened...what do u think is wrong?

Well first off, its an email, not a pass....they probably got it from a forum like this one.

NOTE TO RSBANDB: This is not me accusing you of leaking email addresses, It was ME who chose to let mt email out to the public.

Wow, this was a lot less popular on runehq...lol
