if jagex made a new combat skill, i'd want it to be attatched to the summoning skill, well sorta...
people have been on about summoning for years, but nobdy can quite agree how they'd be used. you could kill any creature you want, and have a small chance (like 1 in 100) of getting a corpse, which you could take to the necromancer and the dark wizards tower to enchant it for loyalty and then bring it back to life. some creatures could only be obtained from events quests, or finding them hidden in somewhere in gielnor.
you get initial exp for summoning it, and additional 10 exp per hit your ally deals. its hitpoints are = to your summoning level + 10 - 2x times its class level, and when you summon it, your summoning level decreases propotionally to its hp. you can heal your ally with a special potion, but it will not refill your summoning level. as you gain levels, you are able to summon higher "classes." every 10 levels gets another class, class 10 unlocking at 99, and every 20 level interval after you unlock a class, its level drain percentage decreases. so a class 10 would have a default of 89 hp+ (99 + 10 - [10x2] + possible level boost from cape or other), and when you first start off, your monsters would have default 9 hp. it also loses hitpoints at a rate related to its class, and whether it is in combat or not. so a class 1 would lose all its exp in 4-5 minutes out of combat, and in 2-3 minutes in combat if it didn't 'take damage, whereas a class 10 would last 15 to 20 minutes out of combat and 10 to 15 miutes in combat.
you'd get summoning exp, of course, and for whatever combat style they used you get an additional 2 exp in that skill per hit. so if your ally was maging, you get magic exp, etc. (if it uses melee you may choose its combat style... for ranged it automatically switches based on targets distance, ie, if it can shoot rapid fire, it will, if the target is too far away, it will shoot accurate, or longrange if necessary.)
you could only summon 1 at a time, and you would have to set 3 allies to summon which you could chose from. when you summon. and at various levels, you can buy it equipment or spells (ie change its magic to lunar or ancient once its combat level is high enough assuming you had beaten the quest. and it has its own runes and arrows. so you dont have to pay for that.
yeah... that would be nice.
