_____

§1. Getting started

Ok, so you're bored and decided "Hey why not make a pure?", then ask yourself 3 questions:
  • Do I have enough time on my hands to train it?
  • Do I have any 'legal' ways to get my pure items?
  • Do I have guts to lose items and spend much money?
If all your answers were no, then stick with your main, if yes, read further.

Starting:

Ok, IDC how you transfer the items to your pure, either legal ( giving it to a friend, and then friend gives it to your pure, pure pays 1gp) or illegal (droptrading).
First of all you need a good name, not that pur3 p33kzr crap, be original, be personal. For instance, my pure is named K0 T R A I N , because when we were pking with corrupted, we called our pile the ko train.

§.2 Advantages of Classes

So you've got your name, now is one of the most important descisions, what type?

Mellee: Horrible at first but once having like 60 strenght, they own.

Low level (3-30): Bad
Medium level (31-40): Mediocre
High level (51+): Owns++

Magic: Huge killing machine at low levels, but loses advantages at high levels.

Low level: Owns++
Medium level: Owns
High level: Medium

Ranged: Most flexible of the 3, medium at low levels, and very good at high levels

Low level: Medium
Medium level: Owns++
high level: Owns

Ok, if my personal point of view counts, then ranged pures are the best, because you can change them into any othe pure or hybrid.

Ok, now you have chosen your type, complete newcomers isle and welcome to lumbrige.

Now, I assume you have your starting equipment allready:

Meleers: Full iron, all metal types of a scimitar, cape boots gloves, food (trout and salmon) and mage equipment (read below)
Magers: Blue top, hat, gloves boots cape, a staff of air/earth/water, loads of body runes and water/earth runes
Ragers: All types of bows, all types of chaps and vambs, loads of irons (+-1k) and bronze arrows and mage equipment

Recommended goals at low lvls

Meleers:
30 Attack
30 Strenght
1 defence
+-30 Hitpoints
27 magic
1 Prayer

Mages
30 Magic
10 Hitpoints
1 Defence
1 Prayer

Rangers
30 Ranged
+-25 Hitpoints
27 Magic
1 Prayer

§.3 Training:

Ok, with those goals in your mind, you should start training (d'uh).

Low levels

Melee
Ok, you have 2 choices
a. Goblins
b. Cows

If you chose b, you can make a bit of money from it, but it will slow down your training, collect cowhides.
If you chose a, goblins are very good exp, less crowded but much futher from each other = slower exp

Ok, again, in my opinion, you should train at cows, now, you can go to crafting guild (further away from bank, but less crowded) or good old lumbrige cows (crowded).

Start training your attack first, so you can wield better weapons, you should reach 30 attack before 30 strenght. From here pretty simple, kill kill kill, take a pee and kill.

Mages

Ok, before you flood me with question, why 10 hp, then i tell you, mages can mask their combat level and keep it lower than others while hitting hard. All spells like curse, weaken, give good mage exp, but no hp exp, THIS IS GOOD, only backside is, that you can only cast it once on 1 npc, so train in crowded areas. from here pretty simple, weaken, curse all the cows or other monsters ( try to find a multicombat area) untill your magic is high enough.

Rangers

Ok, you guys going to be bored of training, but it's worth it. Go to varrock, grab your ranging equipment en climb down the sewers. Go until you reach the tourture room with skeletons to the north and rats to the south. Train on rats untill you ranged is 20. From there go to the monastery and start killing monks, when your hp goes too low, speak to one and he'll heal you(be quick, or someone kills him). Downside is, that this place is popular. Train untill you're 40 ranged.

Ok, now you became a nice low lvl pker, but DON'T go out to pk now, you'll get owned. This is when you should evaluate, is it worth going further? Mages and rangers have the choice to switch to other types of combat, but too bad, meleers don't (hp too high= cmb high).

So if you want to continue, here are the goals.

Medium levels

Mellee
40 Attack
50 Strenght
1 Defence
40+ HP
1 Prayer

Mages
41 Magic
25-30 Hp
1 Defence
1 Prayer

Rangers
40 Rangers
30 Hp
1 Defence
1 Prayer

Mellee

Simple, grab loads of food and go to varrock sewers and kill off the skeletons there

Mage

Same tactique, curse the skeletons in varrock sewers.
To get your hp up, use fire blasts on them.
That simple it seems, but lot of work

Rangers.

What can I say, stick with monks till 40, no food, no money pain.

Ok, when you've reached those goals, you need to think very carefully.
At those level, you will make succesful pker at wilderness lvls 1-3, but if you go deeper, you'll be slaughtered. If you want to go deeper, get those skills up and GET A TEAM THAT YOU TRUST.

High levels (Written by Gotekn)

Melee:
40 attack (you can go higher but stick to that for now unless you wish to go member) Also if you do try and level your attack try and keep your strength at least 20 levels higher so you don't get affected.

60 strength - This is a minimum level you should get, try and get at least that much before you can pk really well.

31 prayer - this is only if you want ultimate strength which can help sometimes.

40 range - only if you want better armour and also not be koed by mages

Rest stats are 1 unless you want teleport then get 25 mage but use curses to keep hp low. Also your hp should be 45ish

Magers:

At this point you are pretty at the height of your game unless you go member.

59 mage - once you get 30 mage like Gontcha said use fire strike or wind bolt to level it so it helps your hp a bit so you cant get 1 hitted.
Rest of stats besides hp should be 1

Rangers:

You are the cream of the crop, from now on you can go anyway and you should own everyone. But also rangers ARE THE HARDEST TO LEVEL UP.

60 Range at least

59 mage - use curse spells to level it unless you want hp (mine I didnt use them and it gives advantage in battle)

40 Attack - you can get this without leveling combat only hp.

59 Strength - At this point keep strength one level lower than range so you only get hitpoint experience and not combat leveling. (some weird class thing)

Hp should be 55 if you didn't use curse to level mage or should be about 45 if you did.

Defense and pray should be 1 unless you want to level pray up for the eagle eye mage.

§.4 Strategy

Winning=Approach. If you don't know what you're doing, you'll be on the train to lumbridge. I have 4 guidelines I tend to follow
  • Know your enemy, and the most important one, know the max hit (<VERY IMPORTANT!!!) and be able to derive levels from combat lvl (i.e. you see a ranged lvl 27 = 40-42 ranged, 1def, 30-32 hp, <41 magic, max hit : 8 with addy arrows)
  • Know the terrain: if you rush in a multi combat zona and you attack a team alone, guess what, TUUUT-TUUUT, the lumby train. Know the approach, if you pk at varrock north gates, it's best to go east for a while so you can't see anyone, then moving north and then going west and then run in from north to south into the fighting mass of free armour.
  • Have a team you can trust; Don't go alone, it's 80% no kills. Instead make a team of people and go with them to pk.
  • Have balls (yes, even if you're a girl) Don't eat every time you've been hit. Each time you eat, you can be hit twice or more, each time you skip a meal, you can hit your enemy, especially when you're a ranger/mage twice very hard, making him/her eat more. Have the guts to let your hp run low, AND TELEING IS NOT FOR NOOBS, ONLY NOOBS SAY SO.

Additional tips by Gotekn:

  • Melee:

Wear iron armour or monk robes, If you wear the iron armour wear the higest hide legs you can have. If you dont have at least studded just forget it. Bring lobsters as food.

Have a rune scimmy, 1-2 strength pots, and a addy or rune 2h.

Use the scimmy and just hit them as hard as you can, KNOW their max hits and just stay 1 hp above it at all times or you will die.

When you hit them and they get low, don't switch to 2h and hit them, take another hit with scimmy, if you don't get them lower then just whack away at them with scimmy, if you hit high then switch to 2h and hit them, this will fail some times, but it allows you to waste their food a lot faster and you can kill them when they are running away. Just use that tactic for now and you will get kills pretty fast.
  • Mage:

Mage robes, runes, lobsters or higher.

Just mage away with best spell, also watch out know their max hit also so you don't get owned.

    Bind helps some times.
  • Ranger:

Wear coif, leather body, strength pot if you melee, power ammy, dhide vamp and chaps, maple short, and addy arrows help a lot. Also have a scimmy or a 2h if you wish to use one. You can also have runes if you wish to use those also.

Range them untill they reach low, if they dont, as soon as your charector pulls back the bow switch to melee and click to attack them, you will double hit if you did it correctly. My max on mine right now is 12 with range and 18 with rune 2h potted. That right there is 30 hp gone, almost always a ko.

Also the advantage of high hitpoints is when you look low you still have like 20 hp left. So when you know their max, just stay outta range. When meleers see that you look low they switch to 2h, when they do that and you know you wont die shoot the bow 1 more time then switch to 2h or scim and hit, they can't eat because after you switch weapons you have a delay in acting so he cant eat right away.

Ok, this is somewhat it, hope it helped you out

I'll help since I can tell you haven't had time to get high level pkers.

High levels:

Melee:
40 attack (you can go higher but stick to that for now unless you wish to go member) Also if you do try and level your attack try and keep your strength at least 20 levels higher so you don't get affected.

60 strength - This is a minimum level you should get, try and get at least that much before you can pk really well.

I'll help also with the pking part.

Anyway sorry about taking over guide but I hope this helps, I have a lot of experience with peekaying and me and rawr err0r were about to make one :D.

I'll try and show a pic of my hybrid, stats are a little sloppy now but I can try and get it. Also don't do medium, high and low levels, it just messes people up, do like the level ranges, mine the ones I posted are from like 40-75, after it you need someone like rawr to come in and help you on that.

I will also try and get the uniform pictures for stuff and maybe inventory pics of what you need.

Why not work on prayer for mages? 43 and you'll be unstoppable against meleers, who are normally weak to mages anyway, and rangers, who are strong against mages. Also, you might get it to 44 for the Mystic Law prayer or whatever (or is that 45?).

Protect from Melee is also helpful for rangers, as rangers are weak on the combat triangle to melee.

And who cares if you're a prayer nub? Those people are just rude, plus you'll get way better drops and won't die often.

Also prayer doesn't level combat often, so it's ok for pures to use prayer.

:P

Ok, i partly agree with you

BUT:

you gain like 5 combat lvls when you lvl up your prayer to 42
with those 5 combat lvls you could've raised your ranged by more than 10 lvls, => your offence will be very big (and when you pure pk, your offence > defence) . But really, even rawr err0r doesn't use protection prayers, and he's really good. ;)

cheers, gontcha
