Post subject: Should JAgex apply rules to dif age groups?

Well here is my old main,
LEVEL 99, 1400+ PLENTY OF MONEY, AROUND, 30M +
banned for, rule 1, offensive language, well i like calling my friends noobs and garbage, just playing around, it is a game right?

Image

Well its offensive language in jagex's book, i must have been reported from some1 who didnt say anything bc i recieved 2 meesages, 1 the day of, and the second that night. I already had 1 black mark, so that was it for me. I know u might call me an idiot for saying noob and all that stuff, but its a GAME. I think jagex might forget that? I have to say I am more mad at the facts:

1. The Censor is terrible

2. Jagex has limited, no question staff

3. They dont bother with your appeal ( I have had so many friends get banned or suspended wrongly and Jagex forgets there appeal and denies it.)

4. I put so much work into that account!!!! (GAH)!!!!

They should hire like junior mods and senior mods, and they can move up in rank, like here on rsbandb.....but junior can only look at like appeals and stuff, and seniors can appeal bans, and take away black marks, they would work this out. You get my idea though.

And also, u can say certain things depending on what age you put in beggining or they take that into consideration when tthey decide to ban you.

Jagex also forgets, you put so many hours into this account and they ban this account in literally seconds, years of ur life flushed away. Anyway my hand hurts,

SUGGESTIONS PLZ???

If you put hours into your account, then it's your fault for throwing it away by breaking Rule One. Sorry, to hear your account got banned. Maybe they'll be more understanding if you send in a ban appeal.

Ban appeal can only be sent once
And really, your fault, don't call people noobs,i hate that word, just say one word; "Report?" and they'll go away.
Jagex rules are fine, but their customer support sucks

I guess our good friend Jagex can't take much of a joke. I've been innocently reported for that rule before, it was when I didn't know much good spelling/grammar and someone reported me for having my usual 'bad spelling days'. Well keep appealing, because every dark cloud has a silver lining. :)

I feel really bad for you...

Well, you did say that you had 1 black mark before, if this was your first offense I would sympathise for you, but 2 strikes your out in Jagex' book.

Sorry though.

Double post.

The customer is always right, I wish. Jagex really needs more customer support staff. And people who actually care about ingame problems.

Okay you didn't get banned for calling them noob...because Jagex specifically says that that isn't a breach of rule one. Second...talk to your friends on private chat if you want to say stuff like that. Third...with an account that nice why would you ever say that stuff.

I just don't get it. Anyway, jagex has about five million or so accounts and over 1 million members...They would have to hire an ***** of workers and pay them all to do what you say...not going to happen. Generally they are pretty fair...if you broke rule one...you broke rule one...they don't have the time or the were-withall to subjectively look at every case...nor should they as they would make favoritism more likely and the game corrupt.

You might also have been hacked if you havent used it in a bit. The hacker might then have cursed and stuff and gotten your account banned just to make your day even worse. Also if your account is that high then dont break the rules, that simple.

Jagex suck.

Its an MMORPG. People are going to call other people noobs.

It has a chat system, people are going to swear.

The censor should be removed for most swear words. Racist words, fine, censor them.

Im going to make an analogy for this.

Imagine a crowd of people moving along a roadway. This great crowd of people want to move out in different directions to the road is going, these different directions being them breaking the rules. There are two possible solutions to this problem.

Either, put great fires on either side of the road, and so all those who wander out will quickly be burnt to a crisp. Or, you can put shepherds on either side of the road, so that anyone found wandering off the path can be gently moved back onto the path.

Everyone wanders off the path at some time, risking the flames. Some dont get burnt by the flames, some do. No-one deserves the flames, really. They should be put back on the path.

With the chat censor, jagex have put some walls next to the path to try and stop people from breaking rule 1. But these are bad walls. They are walls that narrow the path and annoy the sh*t out of people, and people want to break out of them.

The solution?

Get rid of the flames. Add the shepherds. Dont ban anyone.

For those who insist on macroing and scamming and stuff, take them off the path, and put them on their own path. Permanently mute them. Stop them from trading. Even remove their names from the hiscores. But never ban. Stopping them from trading, removing them from the hiscores etc basically makes macroing completely pointless.

My $0.02

Why do you think you should be able to speak differently in front of everyone simply because of an age that Jagex cannot verify?

I notice you left out what the "other stuff" you said was.

Sounds like your ban was justified.

Live and learn. As said already above, if you are going to talk in a manner that you KNOW will get you banned, do it in private chat.

You are playing Jagex's game. You abide by there rules...you have agreed to those rules. You broke the rules...end of story. Now you just whining because you got caught. It would be one thing if you didn't deserve it, but you did so to bad so sad.

We all know there are 11 year olds that play this game. Games like WoW where you pay 15 dollars a month can pretty securely allow swearing because no 11 year old can afford that. Plus the difference in complexity of the game is also a limiting factors as most 11 year olds don't have the complex thought patterns yet needed to play such a game (infact I think sometimes that applies to runescape but I digress).

My reccomendation...start your own game, with your own rules...that way you are assured (or at least I hope) never to break them...until then you just have to live with the rules set down. :?
