Imagine. You are a buffed up person wearing full rune, and you get captured by a horde of new players. Then, this dreaded message is displayed:
There are 4 things you could do:
1. Start swearing and call him a worthless noob.
2. Walk away and ignore him.
3. Try to patiently explain to him that he has skills that he can train to make money, and he can eventually get the stuff you have.
4. Log out and turn chat to "friends" or "off."
Options 1 and 2 aren't good. Why? Swearing and offending people will only get you banned. If you walk away, they just follow you. 3 is okay, and it might make a difference: you never know... 4 could be considered best. Just switch to a new world and forget it ever happened.
Then, you decide to start selling to get your mind off of what happened before. A lower level trades you, and this is what happens:
There are 3 ways to handle this:
1. Again, start swearing and hollering.
2. Remind him of the price of your item and see if he will offer more. I have seen some pretty rich people out there...
3. Decline the trade, and walk away. Switch worlds if it seems like a good idea.
Option 1, again, is not good! Why draw player or mod attention to yourself? Options 2 and 3 are the best. Plus, trading happens in places like world 1, or 2. they are bursting to the seams with players. It is easy to lose someone there.
Some DO's and DON'Ts for avoiding noobs.
DO try to be helpful.
DON'T lure them into the wilderness to kill them. This doesn't take care of any problems!
DO be patient.
DON'T accept a trade like the one in pic 2. If it's the items you saw there, it just doesn't make any sense at all!!! Sorry, just thought I'd put that in... Some HAVE done a trade like that......
DO know where you stand. You may not be the highest level player in Runescape. Sure, a lv 3 to you is a noob, but a level 126 member might consider you to be a noob!
