I have searched this entire forum several times and have only found one thing close to resembling this guide, its a pking guide on page two. Sorry forgot name and couldn't be bothered to post a link :?

Pures, what's a pure?
A pure is player who specializes in a specific skill ie. An attack pure could have a very high lvl attack but very low def and strength. I've seen a lvl 37 with a dragon long... It was insane, anyways, pures aren't just limited to combat skills. There are many stat pures, most of them being woodcutting pures wwith around 8 combat and lvl 90 woodcut (a friend of mines skills there :D). Pures that are combat based can sometimes be very challenging especially to the unknowing. This guide shows how to deal with them, how to create them and the types of pures out there.

Ok, I already knew what a pure was! What pure should I make?

You don't have to pick one, not everyone has one. But heres the basics of pures;
Magic pures:
They hit hard from low lvls but begin to weaken as they get higher. Magic pures are extremely good in free worlds but are still reasonably dangerous in p2p (pay to play). A few dangerous spells can be aqquired that don't nessecarily need a high lvl, the ancient magicks are pretty dangerous not to mention the deadly after effects (freezing etc). They have low armour bonuses against ranged and slash :wink:

Ranged pures:
They hit low from low lvls and don't particullarily hit well as they get higher, but their fast. Imagine. Your walking along after getting some whiteberries etc. and you get double shoted for an 17 and a 17 before those damage shots have gone your hit another 18 thats 52 damage before you know whats hit you. You run towards your attacked but as you click to heal yourself your hit another 12+ suddenly another double shot another couple of 12+'s. And in the space of 15 seconds your dead. You didn't even reach your opponent... Rangers can hit max's of 24's or so I've seen them hit (that was with crystal bow full charged, 99 ranged and a ranged pot). You could be owned easily. Sure they hit max's of 24's but at that speed anyone would buckle and run for their life. Not forgetting ranged they get you ANY where, thats why their so deadly. Besides that their pretty weak. Anyways, they are weak to slash and have good magic bonus :wink:

Warrior pures:
Warrior pures, probably the first pure out there. Warrior pures usually consist of 40-60 attack and a high lvl strength. The flaw? They hit in patches (this meaning there not always hitting their highest hits) alos they usually only have about 1-10 defence so you can tear through what they call defence like it was a piece of cloth. This aside the warrior pure is effective against ranged pures because of the slash weakness in the ranged armour and because of the slight defence bonus that what ever low class armour it is their wearing gives. Some warriors have aspired to defence pures, being almost impossible to hit. Not only does this annoy many players but it also means that the Defence pure has a slight weakness to dishing out the damage. If your fighting a defence pure don't be afraid they usually deal out damage thats barely a scratch mark. If fighting the attack and strength pures, these can be slightly more tedious (annoyingly boring), just unload your best spells/arrows into them and you'll have them healing for dear life!

The prayer beast:
A new pure I recently discovered, the prayer beast. Unlike most names it been named The beats rather than the traditional Pure. Prayer beasts are rather cleaverly built. These can be extremely tiresome. They usually have around 43+ prayer and have a good attack and strength with barely any defence. This works like a charm being that 3 defence lvls gains you a combat also, you gain hits xp whilst using def, att and str but not whilst using prayer. Prayer lvls unlike att, str and def are 7 lvls to one combat lvl. Meaning gaining 7 prayer lvls (1-8) gains you one combat lvl, whilst leaving your hits low! Smart? Yes! Their high attack and strength is for their choice of weapon, a mace. Whilst a mace gives you a prayer bonus (dragon giving 5+, Verac's flail giving 6+) it also hits pretty hard! I've hit 24's with it and I'm only 70 strength. The best way of bringing down such powerful beasts? A dragon scimitar! Cancels prayer for a limited amount of time, but that time is worth it being you can use the special four times!
Rangers and mages? Keep the prayer mage busy, don't let him reach you! Or your a goner! Mages I recommend you use Ice spells (freezing and damage). Rangers I recommend you bind/snare/entangle your opponent OR hide around something and range (bones/walls/trees). This should waste time and deal damage. You really need to keep 'em busy until their prayers all gone then you can finish them. Rangers and warriors DO NOT waste specials on them until their prayers gone (unless your using the dragon scimitar special, then go ahead!).

Ok! But are they worth the time?!
It reall depends on the player! Do you like pking? If so then go for it, most free players use mages and most members use rangers. Warriors are asortted and prayers are usually the most deadly in members.

TO BE CONTINUED, TAKING A BREAK!
