This is a warning to Jagex, about the continuing deterioration in the quality of this game relating to your so called 'updates'.

You are changing the game to how YOU see fit, and to the game you think it should be. Not stopping to consider players reactions. Your polls are a shallow hardly open-ended farce that in no way reflect what the players feel or want. Sure sometimes your updates reflect poll results, but then you twist them and other things etc.

Another thing, I have noticed all your recent updates are once again directed towards noobs. Tempting younger kids into playing with silly tribal masks and frogs, which in turn brings more spoilt children into the game without taking any measures to look into older teens/adults/higher levels playing experience.

Changing things in the game to make it easier for these new breed of low-level younger players to play is fair enough, but when you take it to ridiculous extremes and not give higher levels any look in (you actually TAKE THINGS AWAY from high levels)

PKing you ignore outright the clans of high levels and people who take the wilderness seriously with a passion. Instead helping people who see it as a picnic spot by letting them have protect prayer all the time.

It is obvious by all these factors that you as a company want this game how you want it, and are slowly turning it that way. You want to change it to be like all the other RPGs, grindless and easy with more of a storyline and less care for levels.

Taken from the runescape forums and written by Viral Sabre. Anyone want my advice? Stay midlevel. You get to where i am and theres nothing to do. Quests are patheticly easy and boring. Skills are worthless to level up because merchants and jagex have wrecked them making them unprofitable and a waste of time. (for god sakes don't comment on the merchant comment i couldn't careless if "merchantin is part of game noob!!").
I suppose i should change my status to retired because i rarely play anymore it's just getting worse and worse.

It's niec to see jagex looks after the 10 year olds that would play for a few months max before quiting rather than it's dedicated players that have been here for years.

Few things:
NO i don't tihnk im better than everyone else
NO i don't think all updates should be aimed at high levels but more than 2 a year would be a niec change.

Im donee.

Erm.. Yea, well i have an opinion, but i can remember old memories on runehq about mods on runescape...

Erm.. Well, they are attracting a wider audience, plus the masks you dont have to wear them.... But i spose they need more wilderness updates, make it more clan based.. Also somethings for the older people.

Anyway, i wont say much more.

King.

I sort of agree but you gotta think of it like this: An update is an update, theres nothing you can do about it. If you don't like an update and it means that much to you then you have to live with it or just quit. Ranting never does anything becuase it seems that Jagex never reads their forums.

Jagex doesn't need a wider audience. RuneScape has become populer from word of mouth and it will caryr on doing so. No one is asking for elite weapons or anything huge. But where is the harm in a quest with a hard monster and high stat req? I couldn't give two dams about the reward..give me nothing. Instead of another dam lvl 80 monster and 40 <insert skill here> req quest.

And this is why I raise my skills instead if doing most quests -_-

I agree 110%,
we're adding things to appeal to the majority of RS,
but also we're ignoring the veterans who've played for
the longest time.

who do you want to play more,
someone who'll play for a over a year,
or some kid who'll quit in 3 months?

Tylon

I just got members like 2 months ago and I'm already bored with it...

The only good thing I have found in Castle Wars and that is where I have been for around 2 weeks now...

Who wants to place bets on this weeks update? Low lvl, mid lvl or high lvl? I'd say mid.

I kept that post bumped for 2 hours+, but i got bored of the whining noobs telling me that high levels want everything our way and we have no respect for lower levels, oh and apparently all high levels should quit RS if we don't like what's happend to Ruinedscape

i totaly agree, we get far too less decent updates, and when we actualy get one, its downgraded because noobs complain about it (whip, maul)

HA. That's why i avoid posting there. There is *NO* reason why high levels can't get ONE update ONCE a month. Jagexs excuess is they update for the majority. How is once a month a problem? Unlike the greedy <insert bad word here> that have played and are used to once a week update. MOST high levels are used to a monthly update from rsc. Greedy? Let's speak about greedy any update we get it gets newbyfied to suit THEM. Next high lvl update i DARE anyone who wants to critisize this post and say im wrong to look in rants. EVERYTIME you get threads "to many high lvl updates" and other junk.

People wonder why the community is so cold. I cannot STAND most low levels because of there attitude and the way they are. Yes they no doubt can't stand my attitude towards them but until jagex puts the dam levels aside and starts giving fair treatment towards all of there customers and not just the majority it will continue.

i suppose i dont really have much credit here since im F2P but ill put my 2 cents in anyway.

i do agree with what viral sabre is saying, almost completely, but you have to remember Jagex ARE a company and at the end of the day they are out to make money. if that means catering to the majority of people that are playing which are brainless noobs then i guess thats how its going to be. when runescape was small and only beginning to develop Jagex were able to cater more to the dedicated players who were there for the long haul because it was a way to keep people interested as well as attract new players because these advanced players would spread the word. it seems now he game is on its way down the drain for the high lvl players whove been here for ages because of simply that, theyve been here for ages and want something new. so while these pathetic updates are boring for the more experienced and high lvl players they are something exhilarating for the low and mid lvl players.
to be honest theres really no point ranting on about it. if Jagex cared at all about what people are saying, which is all the same thing, they would have changed something by now. it seems to be getting noone anywhere and at the end of the day you dont have to play if you dont want to hey..

lets hope that we can all still find some enjoyment out of it despite the little weiner noob overthrow...

ok heres what i think,

theres 4 weeks in a month right?

then add a low, mid, high

and then for the last week start with low, then next month do a mid, and the month after Do a high.

now i think that is a good solution to the problem

Higher level updates are more likely to be whole new quest or training area, which will obviously take more time to create than a rubber chicken and frogs hats.

I for one, as a highish level (111) player, don't expect new updates for us week in week out, BUT i do expect something for the players that have kept Runescape going for 5 years and helped it gain, and maintain the popularity it has today.

I think it is extremly unfair that the players who've been here from the start, poured alot of money into the game, got freinds and such to play, and stayed loyal to game, don't get hardly any updates, but the new low levels who enjoy mindless fence fixing minigames and obscene clothing get a hell of alot more out of the updates.

I mean, the fence fixing update on Karajama, Cool it was fun ofr 15 mins until i got a load of twigs and found out what junk you got from doing it. And the Exp? I'm level 94 woodcut, like that minigame will make a dent in the exp towards 95. Yet another update aimed at lower players..

All i ask of Jagex is little something for the people who've kept this game going when it started.
