Dumb Things You Did as a Newb

This a post to discuss what things you thought and did when you were new to runescape that now looking back you realize where stupid. I know everyone has a few so dont be shy :lol:

Here are mine:

First I thought that you really could trim armour. Now I didnt get scammed out of my armour or anything due to this. I simply kept trying to dye my mithril armour by using yellow dye thinking that would trim it.

One day mining I saw someone with a yellow phat on. Not knowing what a phat was at the time I thought it was a crown made out of gold and was really confused when I looked through the manual on crafting and couldnt find out what level you had to be to make a crown.

Finally, the first time I was playing I thought that you had to keep clicking a monster to kill it....even though it is explained in the tutorial I guess I wasnt paying attention to that part. I soon realized I could click once and the just sit back and watch.

I had a heart attack when seeing a rune medium up for sale..i brought it for 50k. -.- I sold it two days later for 18k. -.-'

I used to walk into banks ect calling people "poo poo heads" remembering i've played this game for years..and must of been 12-13 funnly enough though i met one of my best rs friends through doing that.

I went to dragons without an anti breath shield. I was owned instantly lol.

hehe i used to make bronze armor and sell it to buy a mith b axe .....the funny thing is i made the bars buy goin to lummy and walkin all the way back to varrock to bank........ :lol:

i bought shade robes for 50k :oops:

later sold them for 10k whne i relized they were no better than priest gowns

I saw a guy mine a smoking rock and being hit by the explosion for 7hp. Everybody around was laughing. Immediately after that MY rock started smoking, but I just kept mining it thinking "maybe it's random, maybe this one won't explode, and even if it does, I can take 7 damage, cause I've got 10hp." Well guess what - it DID explode and hit me for 10hp, killing me instantly. I lost my full iron armor and lots of other stuff. My only regret is that I wasn't around to see how hard everyone was laughing after my mishap. :oops:

lol i did that...i didnt know it's a million times faster to go to fally.even if i did know i wouldnt have gone there cuz i thought falador was huge...i got completely lost there one time and was almost in tears but then somebody showed me the way back to varrok.

another time i franticly pmed my freind(who i remember thinking was all powerful even though im pretty sure he was lvl 30)telling him i was lost and stuck and blah blah blah.i was in draynor. :roll:

then i found out about this fantastic little feature called "world map" and i rarely did anything stupid anymore...though other things that im not gonna talk about come to mind.

Ohh, mine dates wayyyy back to July, 2001. The "Free upgrades!" scam was popular then. Right when I first logged in. There were a bunch of people around Lumbridge doing it, getting noobs. I got traded, and the guy showed an iron hatchet (back then). Then he would quickly get rid of it and show a mith hatchet. I, thinking it was true, traded my iron hatchet :roll:

My first experience getting scammed.

But then that's not all. A while later on that same character, I was about level 29. I was at the Varrock bank basement (you could only store coins in the bank, anyone remember that?

), with the coins and such behind the bars. I wanted to know how to get it! The guy tells me, "Just say your password, then log out and log back in in 60 seconds and you will be able to get in." So I did. Heh, guess what happened? I was so sad.

Oh, I just remembered another one sadly.

I was buying a party hat back when you could get em 500k to 700k in rsc. The guy pulled away the p hat at the last second and I didn't bother to read the comfirm screen. I didn't play for 3 months after that. Then I figured out how well lobbies work for cash.

Lol... yeah I forgot about that one. I used to do the same thing.

I just thought of something else...for like the first week I played I carried pretty much everything around with me instead of banking it...then one day the light bulb came on. lol

i let myself get down to 3 hp at the drak mages circle one time... then i mysteriously woke up in lumby and lost my full mith..

1. I always wore a pink skirt at level 9-20..

2. I never really found out where Falador is before some guy took me there.. (I was scared of the dwaves)

3. I tought it was so leet to kill Delrith at level 19 when he/she was level 30..

4. My "home" was in the Jolly Boar Inn, the bar northeast of Varrock, i
logged in, went there and i was there 3 hours, logged out, etc..

I was level 35 when RS2 came out, and im 48 levels higher in RS2 now.. :roll:

well there was this time i was like lvl 7 and i got stuck in that big old creepy hous in Draynor... I was there for like 3 hours till i saw someone using the backdoor...

and when i just came from tutorial island i someone was following me saying that he would kill me if i didn't give him my money... I was so stupid that i did that...
