Jagex imersonation and password scamming

It has happened twice now that someone did a Jagex impersonation and try go get my password.
I hope some Jagex mods come to this forum.
I would like to see the abusers get banned.

All I can say is either block them, or set your Private to Friends only.

The first one was funny the moron even logged out..my god. It's funny i post on a lot of forums i would of thought i would get a lot of morons trying to get into my account..but i just don't..i get more "i want a friend" ones.

Just simple report them and hope jagex notices :wink:

Also if you dont want those messages from people you do not really know then just turn your private chat on.

Runescape is turning into D2, all autoers. Jagex will try their hardest to stop it, but when there are not many Jagex staff it is kinda hard to stop it. Just keep being a loyal runescape player and hope for the best :wink:

Well Jagex mods probably don't go to any fan site forums. They just go to fan sites to make sure they are not doing anything against their rules.

Whenever that happens to me I just report the people. If they keep on doing it they get enough black marks and they get banned.

I usually go along with it, saying all i can to avoid typing in a password, real or fake. Sometimes I even backfire them. Once one of them asked for forgiveness. I wish I had taken a screenshot ...

you can report private messages as well as normal chat which most of those stupid scammers dont realise.

report and put the idiot on ignore list for a month or 2 by then they should be perm banned and it be safe enough to clear them offa that list.

oh and best not to tell a person u've reported them not only does it invite flaming and let them know to switch to a new scamming account.

those noobs are really stupid...

Once a noob says he is from jagex and asks my password, the first thing i did was calling him a noob... And then he said that he reported me... and I said if you are a real mod couldn't you just ban me instead of reporting me?

But most of the time I just say "get lost" and a few seconds later "what??? my screen is turning black??? You are really a mod?" And then i log out and log in again and i say "oops false alarm... no go bug some1 else noob" and most of the time they stop...

But the most funniest thing ever happend to me with those noobs was the following:
Noob: I am a mod of jagex blah blah blah password blah blah
Me: To bad Insect repellant is members
Noob: why?
Me: cause a noob is buggin me
Noob: I don't get it
Me: :lol:
