Telling someone you were joking after your victim did something back dosen't really mean anything. Understand you broke a Runescape rule, were reported, and punished. And notice RsBandB's first rule is follow Runescapes rules. So you killed to birds with one stone.

Since we cannot see what the reason was you were perm banned I cannot make sure that what I'm going to tell really happened.

I believe that Jagex has some scripts running that reads chat logs. It's not that hard to make give it a little AI to see what a person is saying. The only problem with scripts is that they can judge the context pretty bad (if they can at all). And that's why even jokes are sometimes punished with a perm ban in this case.

That's what I believe, I got no proof for it but it makes sense to me.

Lesson: Don't play with the computers' inability to judge. If anyone would follow that rule you won't have things like perm bans anymore.

it is sad, and even though there is nothing we can do, this should be a lesson learned. at the same time though, its still sad that the mods on bnb cant do anything for the reporter. he said he did it, but idk, im not a mod

Since he won't show the evidence we don't know if it was a reasonable thing to get reported for. If it was reasonable why would the mods punish anyone they were only trying to be a good runescape player or just a mod wannabe.

I have been going into Mike12088 recently, (is that the official Rsband CC?) and I notice a fair number of unmarked chatters; I think this means they are friends of someone in the Clan, not in the clan itself. If I thought things were getting out of hand in a CC I would probably warn people to be careful.

So it could have been anyone who reported, not a CC mamber.

I use another CC most of the time. Again we would not report anyone within that chat but if you want to say something which might be 'misunderstood' you should take it to Private chat. However even Private chat is logged and if you offend someone in Private chat, it can also be used for reporting.

If Jagex are using an AI to do their first check on the chat logs, no wonder there are so many 'unfair' bans; the game censor is a crude tool and *s out the most ridiculous words because it is not context based. I imagine any AI used by Jagex in other censorship would be about the same standard, ie not context based.

Having said that I would not report in CC, I do report people in OPEN game chat; the most recent was someone describing how he got round the censor, I let it pass the first time, but he went on repeating in detail, so he got reported. He went on to relate some particularly unsavoury actions in RL, so I hope RS got that on log too. He DID deserve reporting.

People using occasional bad language I mostly ignore if it does not grow too blatent.
People hinting at a site for help I ignore.
People selling or trading accounts I report if they repeat, and it is clear it is not a joke.
RWT I report every time, but hardly any of those now.

And I do not want to be a player mod, I don't have enough time to do the things I want to in the game already, never mind that I do not agree with ALL the rules that Jagex imposes, so would not want to be under an obligation to impose all of them.

There was somebody who said they did it, and yeah i have been in the bnb CC for a long time, ever since i joined the site, even before that and im not ranked yet, im not complaining but i think there should be ranks for more people, by my "steel membership thing" it looks like i was here for awhile, and i will be here for a long time to come.... im not asking for a rank, im just stating my oppinion

Well, the guy who said he did it (I'm presuming you mean Total Plox) was joking, so punishing him for it would accomplish nothing (except getting another guy in trouble for joking- which isn't that the whole problem in the first place?).

And even if Total was serious, you can't punish him when there is no idea what Zvono was punished for.

And while I expect Mike would like to give you a rank if he sees you online in the chat, the problem is his friends list is completely full, and there are many more people who want a smiley beside their name.
