In a literal sense, they mean the exact same thing. But there's a definite difference between telling someone you're going to kick their butt (I'm pretty sure RS blocks this word, anyway) or their (insert other word for butt here).
Obviously, curse words are worse as they have more strength to them.
Makes them more offensive.
And all that aside, RS blocks almost all synonyms for curse words. You can't even say 'crud' on RS. I wasn't even aware that 'crud' was even slightly offensive in any way.
