Interesting idea. If they do allow RSN changes, what will happen if someone reports someone else, then they change their name?

Do you think Jagex would keep track of their previous name?

i would rather make it to change ur in game name so that if ur in a clan or sumthing then u can change ur name to include ur clans initials

Hmm, for me it's kind of useless, but for people who have numbers in their name, they might want to change it and it is very annoying to other people, ex. like your friend is named bob and you change it into rob, but tags you can have by your screen name are good, like a clan tag or number.

Well in me opinion if we will be alowed to change in game nick that will be good less scaming and stuff but if it will be posible to change log in scamer will rule rs and no one will play it as all will lose them accs and runescape apokalipse will come! Well with in game nick changing would be mesy unles friend will se ye as a green dot even if you change yours in game nick and it will be posible to change it back

Maybe they'll bring back that thing where you can examine other players. It usually said "It's -name-" when you examined someone, but you can imagine what effect there will be if you can make your own custom examination.

yeah, i see it working the way my name is on swiftswitch. the name "spudchaotic" is registered and i always log in on that, but then i change it to "spud|the|stud" almost every time as well.

paralleling this to runescape... you log in, and change your screenname based on what you want to. then if you try to change your name to someone elses existing name, it will prevent you from changing to that unless you can log in to that acc through the acc you are on, thus proving you are the owner of the name you want to change to. so, i log in as chaoticpsycho, but i want to be ibans flesh or spudchaotic, i just type in a command in the textbox to change my name, and up comes the verification table. i type in ibans flesh's pass and i borrow my other accounts name. or if i dont want to be one of my accounts, i can choose an original name, like omigdimonfir (kingdom hearts chronicles reference :wink:

Well, changing your In-game name and Log-in name is like telling hackers you want hacked. They can easily change your Log-in name and you will never see your account again.

Frankly I think changing the 'ingame' name is a HORRIBLE IDEA!
I have many noobs who simply 'wonnabe' me and other 'wonnabe' other players

I would really be bothered if I am walking by seer bank and I see some noob level 80 or 70 somthing with MY NAME!!

NO NO NO worst idea, for every action there is an opposite and equal reaction. do YOU want some noob to have YOUR name , think about it....

I would support this idea if Jagex was to place a Lock on your name, you will be able to change your name to whatever you want once you login, if you logged out and loged back in your name will reset to the real rsn, other players should not be able to change there name to lets say (n0valyfe) unless he (the actual name holder) click on 'Allow Name Use' Button in his option screen. He (the actual name holder) clickes the button again (to disable this option) ANYONE with the that name (other then the real person) will be changed back to there default name (there highscore name)

Another serious consequence is Abuse Report, Whom do you report? I mean someone is walking with MY NAME, he stats swearing, spamming, scamming, and luring. Some other dude reports him (by typing "Wiz126" in the box - because thats the name he changed to), Do I get banned? how will they know?

But what if you change your Log-in name and In-game name, and it resets your bank PIN number also?

Because you ussually choose a bad name at the start and don't want to start over because you've done so much already.
