RuneScape does prepare you for later on in life like Alex said because it teaches you that in order to get rewards and things that you want you need to work for it and plan. For example, in RuneScape, you may plan out to work for 2 months woodcutting or merchanting in order to afford a certain item you want. In real life in the work area you work a job in order to get your paycheck and to be able to recieve the enjoyments in life you want. Point made.

Or you can just steal (thiefing) the stuff/money, or kill for it. Or scam/hack.

I haven't logged on to Runescape in 5 days and I don't think i've been happier... I'll probably just quit soon; I used to play for like 25, maby 26 hours a day. Anyone who thinks of Runescape as more than a game should really get a life, and the only people being taught by Runescape how to 'work for what you want' are those lacking common sense.

Well let me explain my story with RS, it's really short and simlpe. I played it when I had a crappy computer which couldn't offer better games period. Now since I got a new pc a couple of months ago I literally expanded my "playground" so I bought other better games and realized that RS was just a waste of time for me. Trust there are tons of other better RPGs and games to play than RS.

RuneScape is more than an average online game. It made so much attention and fan base, that even with being a game that was optimized for the Internet until it became #1 amongst the games with the worst graphics, it has in 1000 times more players than Adventure Quest with its cute chibish graphics and Flash-based engine (EWW).
But anyone who sits 24 hours and more near the computer playing it, will probably find himself at clinic death caused from computer addiction. Even I play it for maximum 3-4 hours, then I go to kick some butts at WarRock or go to read.

I also didn't get the point of the first post - how talking about suicide in case RuneScape ends makes a person a "noob"? :-s

Yeah, i do the same thing than you but with Battlefield 2 and Counter-Strike Source, but that doesn't mean RuneScape isn't a wonderful game that deserves being played, even if it's not the best game ever with 1337 graphics.
