yes..i suppose that would be a nice tweak too...honestly..the highest i ever hit with a maul..no pots or pray..was a 18...i think..my memory is abit fuzzy. what suprises me though..is no one has complained about the drag daggers spec...8 hits in 4 turns with high chance of poisoning. not that im complaining..but the trend seems like it would leak onto it.

That's because while i can hit about 18-20 with a dragon dagger spec it normaly hits low..almost everytime you use a spec.

I never actually had a chance to use a maul when it was a glorified weapon, however, as a pker myself, id say that it needs its power back.

what i want to know though...is why a big rock on a stick is weaker than a cord of leather....yeah it has Abyssal...but thats just after the monster....oh no..goin into physics again....i say the whip needs to be dropped drastically if your going to kill the maul!!! it only mkes sence. both are pretty high level slayer mosnters...and both drop weapons that were both once big and bad...but one got ditched..so why not the other too?

Evidently, you didn't get the run of my post.
The special was jacked up!
It's not the bloody physics.

The reason it got downgraded was because of the special's
ability to have no lag time between shots AND do high damage,
so they had to downgrade the amount of damage to balance
out the no lag time effect.
The whip's special is just a high, accurate hit.
Maul's special was two high hits, no lag time.
Just from the sheer overkill force of the Maul, it had to be fixed.

And why does the whip have to go down?
The whip cannot kill you in under 10 seconds, unless
you stand there that is. And like it has been said, what
does how you get the weapon connect to who can use it?
Ya know, the whole you don't have to smith rune to wear it deal.
Also, don't try to drag real life concepts into Runescape, it'll
make your head hurt. If we wanted to do that, why not make it
so the person with the whip can just run up to the mauler and
strangle him with the whip?

Both weapons are still big and bad, only, in the whip's case,
it's a fifth (1/5) the price it originaly was.
The reason thine maul was ditched was due to Jagex
stopped letting player's use such cheap tactics.

"Hit and run" comes to mind.

meh. If they had kept the maul as it was..it would of been like the old days of the r2h pures wearing nothing but monks robes..everyone using that to pk.

yeah, but you always hear people rejoicing the RSC pking system..so wouldnt that in turn make it better for the masses?

bah...seems like whenever you give people the update they want ,they complain about it untill its changed back..then they gripe again. you never know what you want untill you dont have it anymore...ill admit that im guilty of it this time..wnting the mauls hit back..but im not gonna complain when i see somene commin at me with on in wildy....ill be smart enough to turn tail and run for my life.

Naa. It was the three hit rule and the none newbyish multicombat areas that made the pking system good. There was no worrys about a stupid balanced triangle then ether.
