Thats really nice .. I read the new article about 3 times just to make sure I didn't miss any important parts. That article was sure awsome..
But I thought you were not suppose to post any website links on the forums.

Anyways, if you read about this article Jagex said, you'll know that even a jpg file is not safe.
Pretty scary huh? :P

Hehe I knew since there was some kind of security breach thing I am now using my Dad's *bad* (but still XP) comp and also usin Firefox 8) Im actually starting to like the extra features of this browser now so Im gettin it on my comp as soon as I get back on.

Quote:
There was a time when the idea of a malicious image file was absurd enough to be the topic of an April Fools joke. One early and widely-circulated hoax message dating from 1994 warned users of a computer virus infecting the comment field of JPEG files.

"It was someone saying that just looking at a JPEG on your screen can get you a virus," recalls Rob Rosenberg, editor of the debunking site Vmyths.com. "In '94 it was a myth, but in '04 it's the real thing... We've got the JPEG of death now."

Thats scary... and its also why u guys gotta learn to post in PNG! or two reasons! The reason mentioned in this topic, and the other being that JPEG's are so blurry.

And what's even scarier is that the security breach happened to THIS forum...

I would watch out with that, perhaps the anti-keylogger just installs a key logger on your computer.

programs on http://www.download.com are tested and scanned before they are added their website, they test it for installation, quality of the application, user interface feedback, quality of the program, also they see if it does as the publisher says its meant to.. so im sure they are safe from http://www.download.com

in a way, hackers do help make places safer.

think about it a hacker found a hole, exploit it, website owner or whatever finds it and closes it.

nothing in this world is perfect, as long as there a coders there will always be code breakers. no matter how good or perfectly protected something is, it's still man made, there it still has human error and as long as we continue to make errors, it is not possible to fully protect anything.

I would just like to add something, If you want to be a bit more safe towards Key Loggers and other harmful virus's such as Trojans, You can download this:
http://www.grisoft.cz/softw/70/filedir/inst/avg70f_308a466.exe
It's a virus detector program obviously, I assure you it's very safe, This is the trial version, I can honestly say, I've never had a virus infect my computer while I have had this.
It is also the free version, I believe there is a version you can pay for, But I own the free version, This is also a 13.9MB file.

Edit: The link above was for Windows.
This link is for Linux Workstation: http://www.grisoft.cz/softw/70/filedir/inst/lnx_lws_stf__7_0-14.dir/avglinux-7.0-15_avi0463.i386.rpm

Thanks Steve
