And I have had 3 offensive languages due to typos...

But I thought the word Biach was blocked...

Be happy that you can appeal. I know one person who has been given unfair blackmarks but his appealing section is broken so he cannot appeal any of them. He even doesn't know how many blackmarks and what offences he made...

Aww.... that really sucks.... Was the mute permanent? If so, tell me pl0x. Anyway, I do agree that Jagex frivolously punishes too much, and that they shouldn't report great players like you based on the word of an idiot who forced you to do something wrong.

On Bib User, but they realized they made a reatrded mistake and fixed it. Same with me being perm muted for saying 1-800-7777777777, claiming I was asking for personal details.

It's kinda your fault...you weren't forced into saying the website. You could've just said you're not allowed to tell him.

Jagex have rules for a reason.

Well it's the rules, jagex team is not suposed to know if it's random i think. But the person that reported you would be a bum and nooby.

Anyways, I'm not too concerned about whether or not it was really my fault that I said "rsbandb.com". However, the extremity of it is a little overwhelming. I get a permanent mute for PMing 1 website to a friend who asked for it.

Shouting in the markeplace, "Go to ********.com for your free macros and autominers" while auto-typing ... yeah, that's deserving of a permanent mute. saying aloud: "Everyone, check out ***********.com. It's a cool site!" ... same.

But saying it to one person after he asks "what's the website called?" ... Maybe a week or even a month-long ban would be OK, but permanently? That's a little too extreme!

Basically, shouting to everyone out there to go to a certain website is advertising. And Rule 11's title states that "advertising websites isn't allowed". If Jagex really wanted this rule this stressed, they would say in the title "mentioning" or "saying", not "advertising". It's a false reference, if you ask me.

Plus, this is the first time that something like this has ever happened. I've been playing for 7 years. Surely the Jagex Team have some sort of record stating that, and that reason would kick in enough for them to think that I have maintained a 7-year perfect record and that one little slip-of-mouth should really only result in a warning that I need to revise the rules.

And a final word on the subject: Everything will be fine for me. so long as I still have Alex 43 and I can still train myself to be great, we're just fine. Expect me to talk and buy/sell stuff to you guys on the forums a lot more, though, since I won't have that luxury on Runescape any more. Give it time, and maybe something might happen. You never know.

Ok, as a Player-Mod, I thought I'd try to answer a query about the mute system.

Mutes are normally temporary, after all it would totally ruin your game if you can't talk at all. It would make the game unplayable.... And you'd be unable to respond so you'd look like a macroer to some overexcitable player...

Mutes are normally 48 hours, so I suggest you login sometime after this period and check.

About the over-reporting thing. P-mods are constantly examined over their report accuracy - the rules, especially on mutes are strict - I am limited for instance what I can and can't mute for...

Player's wanting to rack up reports. Obviously I wouldn't know about it before, but many players see the special crown as a symbol of power and, like a p-hat, something to 'tick-off' asap. The number of questions related to how to get the crown are phenomenal.

The appeal's system is fairly new - didn't used to be able to view evidence as far as I know. Therefore how it is being used is also probably being looked at.

Final words.... Try to stick to the rules, PloX is right, but then again if we know the site, we don't normally report let alone mute. For example if I saw you telling someone to use rsbandb or runehq, I would tell you that you shouldn't really advertise sites.. And that would be it.

Overall I realise that people are generally trying to help (I take a harsh line on macroing and scamming though - influence of f2p willows there....). I do always ask before I report macroers - my chat cuts through Off public chat, so it works nicely as a check.
