The idea sounds like the movie that was made about Super Mario Bros. in UK, 1992. It sucked and barely pulled any resemblance to the game plot itself.

The hell. What producer would do such a thing? One must be very stupid to do that.
The only good thing would be a free-to-view short movie series, like WIZET have for MapleStory. They're pretty cute and funny. But looking at the 3D models JaGeX does to promote RuneScape, it will be pretty bad if JaGeX itself would try to do it.
