Hello, I am Lord D, and this is my guide to world 1. Does W1 need a guide? Certainly. I am a hardcore veteran on the trading world, and I can tell you, newbs can be ripped apart in here. Let us begin.

Table of Contents:
1: Map of Main Merchanting Area
2: Breakdown of Areas
-Red Area
-Blue Area
-Yellow Area
-Green Area
-Purple Area
3: How to survive

Part 1: Map of Merchanting Area
This the map around Varrock's Western Bank. This is where the action is.
Certain areas are color coded, and I will tell you why in a sec.

Legend of Areas:
*Note, specific items are not always sold in a specific place, these are trends that I have noticed about areas!
Red Area: Rare Armor and rune (as in magic) area
Blue Area: God Armor area
Yellow Area: Rune (t) or (g) area
Green Area: General trading area
Purple Area: General TA and bank-sale area

Part 2: Breakdown of Merchanting Area
Red Area- Mostly Black and Addy (t), (g), or normal is sold here, plus runes and other small supplies.
Blue Area- It gets interesting here. Don't step in here with less than 1000K and your chat effects on. Saradom, Zamorack, and Guthix Armors are usually sold here.
Yellow Area- Rune (t), (g), and normal is mostly sold here. The occasional Addy of Black person wanders in here though.
Green Area- This is a General Trading Area. You can buy just about anything here if you try.
Purple Area- Situated inside the actual bank, this is another GTA, and also a popular spot for bank sales.

Part 3: Surviving
Merchanting can be a harsh place actually. You need to make yourself heard over 2000 other people, and get your product out there. Here Are some simple tips:
Tip 1: Watch out for the people saying they are spending 1 Mil. Because 1M shows up as 1000K, it is easy to change 1000K to 10,000 coins instead.
Tip 2: Don't fall for other scams. Jagex put the second window in for a reason!
Tip 3: Know prices of things! It can be daunting to try and know lots of numbers, especially for special armors. But it helps. If you charge too high for an item, no one will buy it! If selling, and you charge too low, you will just rip yourself off.
Tip 4: Turn Chat Effects off. This will help your computer deal with all the info it has to process in a highly crowded world. You can still type in a "Color:" code. No need to lag out when close to getting a sale!
Tip 5: Turn Chat to "Hide." Many know this, so it's just common knowledge, but if you're new, here's the breakdown. Turning Chat to hide will filter out words, but you can still type, and you will only see trade requests, and what mods are typing. It really helps.

Good guide but there are a little errors in some sort:

1) you never said where it was you were talking about
2) some people go to east bank of varrok to sell ess and other people go to fally to sell ores and such

But heck that was a useful guide!

Why get a 99 quickly when you can enjoy the skill for a longer time and make a lot of money in the process?

What's useless to you is helpful to someone else. Try providing some constructive criticism next time.
