It's SwitchSwitch not SwiftShift.

It has been confirm that if you download Swiftswitch from RunescapeCommunity or Switchswitch.net is keylogger and virus free.
Jagex does not recommand it or any other third party program.
However it is not ilegal as it doesn't give any advantages at all to the users using it.

according to the Macro FAQ at runescape.com wrote:
Can you clarify rule 7 of the Rules of conduct?

You must not attempt to use other programs (e.g. bots, macros or autominers) in conjunction with our games to give yourself an unfair advantage at the game. You also may not circumvent any of our mechanisms designed to log out inactive users automatically.

This includes, but is not limited to the following 3rd party programs:

programs that attempt to communicate directly with the RuneScape game worlds.
programs that monitor, modify or decrypt the communications between the RuneScape client and the RuneScape worlds.
programs that generate input to the RuneScape client. This includes programs that automatically move the mouse pointer or generate mouse clicks or key presses.
modified versions of the RuneScape client. Reverse engineering the RuneScape client is strictly prohibited. Using a modified version of the RuneScape client is not permitted.

hence, it is illegal as far as im concerned.

I don't use it but it is not illegal. It doesn't change gameplay at all so it is legal.

wether it changes gameplay or not it is still a modified runescape client. note the sections i've highlighted in my previous post.

and regardless of what anyone says that Andrew Gower said (heresay) to the owner it has always been against Jagex's terms and conditions (refer to their corporate site for all of the terms and conditions) that you, as a player, agreed to when u created your account.

swiftswitch does not connect to the world directly, it works just like my switcher, its basicly just a program that shows the page that u see on runescape.com ... (it uses a frameset for the programmers out here)

Swiftswitch is a modified version of a runescape client therefore it is illegal.

swiftswitch is NOT a modified version of the client, it launches the original client from the site ... (the client == the java applet on the runescape site)

in order to get the java applet u'd have to decrypt the thing, and \ or communicate directly with the game servers

 and even if u still wanted to argue that it is not a modified version of the client provided by jagex, it is still a custom client; and therefore against the terms set by jagex.

 read thru the terms that every player agreed to when they created their accounts by clicking on the corporate site link at the top of the rs main page, then the terms and conditions link at the bottom of the corporate page.

Locked, thats enough of this topic.

I don't recommend that anyone uses any 3rd party clients, but how can I stop you?
