Smoking Kills
Pollnivneach has a new inhabitant whose name is not Ali (or any variant of Ali, curiously enough). Who could this mysterious stranger be, and how did her sister end up trapped in a dungeon filled with Slayer monsters?
Do you dare to venture into the depths beneath Pollnivneach, where unknown dangers await amid smoke and screaming? The perils will be great, but, when rescuing a damsel in distress, the act should be reward enough...

Items Needed: Catspeak amulet, prayer potion, food, pet cat or kitten, Ghostspeak amulet, earmuffs, facemask, and a rope (not needed if you've completed Dealing with Scabaras). Melee gear is preferred.
Optional Items: Shantay pass and coins (or Pharaoh's sceptre), Charos ring (U) for cheaper carpet rides, desert gear for a short period. Range or magic attacks.
Difficulty: Medium.

Start Point: Talk to Sumona in Pollnivneach

Talk to Sumona in Pollnivneach, just a bit south from the carpet ride. You have been asked to save her twin sister down in the well.
When you try to enter the well at the center of town a cat will stop you. You'll have to fight banshees while in a smoky environment. The cat tells you to see a new slayer master.
Head toward the agility pyramid and go to the back and climb up the rope (you will have to go around if you have not done Dealing with Scabaras). Put on some armour if you haven't already before going out.
Head toward the temple, pass the small camp and enter the sealed door on the left, where inside you will see a hole in the wall. Take your cat out and search the holes on either side. The cat will open a new passage but before you go in take the steel pickaxe by the entrance. The area contains a few traps and monsters so care should be taken - mage/ranged attacks optional to destroy the skeleton archers and mages.
When you enter either side the skeletons will attack you with range; you can destroy them to stop them. When you have killed them or decided to ignore them, use your pickaxe to knock a hole in the door. After you've broken the door, watch out as the other side has traps on the wall. Search the wall on the side to disable.
After the tunnel you'll have to fight a few monsters. They're not too strong and once you have killed the skeletons and zombies a mummy will emerge. Kill it and it will drop either a range key or a magic key. Use the key on the door and pull the lever. Head around to the other side and repeat the process.
Once you have pulled the lever on both sides, head back to the entrance and down the center path. All the traps will be disabled and you can pass through them easily. Equip your ghostspeak amulet and talk to Catolax.
Somehow you learned how to put the facemask and the earmuffs together (why not at the beginning, who knows?) so head back to Nardah and prepare for the battle. You no longer need your cat or amulets so put those in the bank while withdrawing food and potions. You may want to pray at the altar.
Put on your face mask and head on down the well. Once you get down there head north, kill a banshee to get the banshee voice then continue north and go past a big red barrier.
You'll see Jesmona trapped and you have to save her. Attack the banshee and put up protect from magic.
IMPORTANT: when she gets to half HP she will call on her assassins to help out. These hit very hard with ranged attacks so right before you get her to 50%, enable protection from missiles.
After you killed the banshee, Catolax will talk to you again. Head out of the well and receive your reward!

Nice quest guide. Simple, but enough description that it was easy for me to figure out where you were going.

I have to notice two things. One of the skeleton sides uses mage and the other uses range. Also, if you plan to do more quest guides, please use HD graphics if possible.

the HD version throws the chat box right in the middle of the screen which means any picture that i take will have to be at a weird angle to keep it out of the picture.

and to be frank, besides a few here and there i've been the only one that has been making the guides.

And we're very grateful that you have been.

We would like HD pictures, but we understand that some people either don't have a computer which can support it or don't like playing in it.

I believe you can minimize the chatbox by clicking on one of the chat filter buttons once or twice.

We can get the HD pictures for this quest, but if anyone else could it would be appreciated.

Feel free to incorporate these into the guide. Didn't take me too long to put these together, except for cutting out the reward scroll... Let's hope they don't change the appearance of that anytime soon. :roll:
