Shane, what is the difference between a front-end and a back-end server? What different types of things would be put into each one? Is there such a thing as a middle end server, and if there was, where exactly would it be located?

this is my first text question, sorry it's so long (no need to say that live)
If the world was going to end tomorrow and you had 24 hours to do whatever you wanted but you couldn't stop the world ending, What would you do?
also do you ever feel time is passing quicker all the time? I've been getting that feeling
