network problem

hey guys, every once in a while on my laptop i get an error message. basically my network crashes and i am forced to restart my laptop everytime. when it crashes i cannot do anything on the internet which is a pain in the butt. any ideas? i scanned my comp for errors and for viruses but nothing comes up. any suggestions or is it due to the fact that the internet access in my dorm sucks and it is slower than dial up :-p

Laptop manufacturer? And the type? You might want to check the manual
