how do you upload podcasts?

hey,i was wondering how do you upload your podcasts up to the forums?is there some type of program?
or some other way you can do it? your answers would be greatly appreciated(<uggh stupid sentance #-o

In order to truly have a 'podcast', you need to create a RSS feed, which requires that you know how to code XML. I made an itunes specific XML a while ago.
(I think, but am not sure that I know exactly what I'm talking about here)

I don't know about buying, but Audacity is open source and free, and excellent.
