 Post subject: Problems with windows Xp pro SP1

I know some one that still has windows xp SP1 and ofter like 20 to 1 hour the computer goen into some sort of panic it runs the CPU at 100% and it slows down the computer and for runescaoe it slows it down so much that is cant run. Does any one have the same problem.

It could be a virus. I had this same problem a long time ago (and yes, i am still on SP1). What I found was that the file that was slowing down my computer was rvchost.exe. Try opening up your processes (Ctrl-Alt-Del) and look for that file. If you find it, remove it. If not, then i'd recommend getting Ad-aware or Spyware Doctor and scan your computer.

Now what if i said that the fire causing the poroblem was RUNDLL32.exe if i spelled it correctily but that is the file causing the problem.

I don't have the prolbem but heres what I would do. Get sp2 rune spyware checks and viruses. Delete what it finds.

If that doesn't work I would whipe my computer clean. I do that about once every 2 years just to keep computer running well. Make sure to backup anything inportant though, but make sure anything you backup doesn't have the spyware in it or else it makes no sense to do it.

The correct spelling is RUNDLL32 it's part of a keylogger. See the symantec site for details on removal here:

I've just noticed the date of the posts I'm answering, so no doubt your account has being hacked by now if the people at the other end are Rune Scape aficionado's and not credit card fraudsters.
