Java?

Errr...My runescape main page wont load. All it is, is a square with a X at the top left corner....Anyone also experiencing this problem?

P.S. Mods move this wherever this belongs. I just picked RS general because...its runescape related.

That's strange. What kind of internet connection are you using? Have you messed with any settings recently that might block Runescape.com?

Also, the title of this topic, "Java?" is irrelevant. Java is not used on the main page, so that should not be causing any problems.

Umm...Sorry about the confusion. Actually the main page is fine only the part you load Java where it freezes, errors, etc. After you pick your world.

Then it IS a problem with Java, maybe, re-download the client? Or maybe look at the Help files with the Java Client.

Can you log onto different worlds? or is the problem prior to that page? I was wondering if the error was serverside.

Have you ever clicked on one of the adverts in runescape, my thinking here is maybe a bad advert is or has done something. Have you run any trojan spyware removal progs? if not do so.

Tools > Internet options > Advanced tab >check 'show pictures', and 'show animations and videos'. Don't think this will help but try it - if not change them back to your original settings.

Have you read the FAQ's on jagex's site?

Have you tried downloading another browser like Mozilla's Firefox or Opera?

If you have Microsoft java install Sun Java, I beleive MS java is no longer being updated.

oh yeh make sure the enable java plug in box is checked in IE
