Nothing released other than this, but it's the most official announcement so far.

Thoughts?

3+ months just to make a resizeable client? I mean really? Even by Jagex standards, doesn't that seem kind of slow?

Of course, I suppose there could be marketing tactics involved here as well...

Not really... They'll want to make sure it works perfectly

Jagex making things work perfectly on the first shot? Maybe OSRS has had better luck with it than the RS3 game, I don't know, but it doesn't seem like that happens a whole lot. And to be fair, failures, glitches, or bugs are sometimes inevitable in any case with a system so large, no matter how much you prepare. Oh well though, we'll see.

Old School has a completely different team from Runescape 3. These guys have been spot on with releases; they hold them until they know they are ready, (see: Achievement Diaries) and they release with very few bugs, if any. They are one of the better content development teams I've seen for any game, and I have a lot of respect for the group.

Keep in mind that there's also only 7 of them.

Ahh, so I am not the only one ;)

3 months actually seems rather impressive considering for years they said it was impossible to make that client resizable, which was one of the major selling points of the HD graphics.
I wonder what the size of the OSRS team is.

I believe there are only 2 JMods that work on development, with 6 others on the Old School team. I don't know if that info is still accurate, but those are the only ones I know of.

Ah, well then good for them, and all the best. =D>
