"Don't buy an Xbox, think of the money you can save without buying that console, you could do loads of stuff with it."

"Don't see that new X-Men movie, think of the money you can save without spending your ten bucks on it!"

"Don't buy music, think of the money you can save, there's a radio for a reason, you know!"

"Don't pay for a game, think of the money you can spend on books and stuff!"

See any similarities? If you don't, I'm speechless.

The point of it all is, people WILL fork out money for their enjoyment, big or small, they still will.

£3 isn't much, i don't even notice it being taken from my bank it's that small of an amount.

If i felt i was paying to much money and couldn't afford that sort of loss anymore i'd stop. Fact is it's not a huge amount, my flow of money isn't that tight and i can easily afford to pay for membership and have other such luxurys.

It's such a small price it's not a big deal.

You say '5 dollars isnt much, a homeless person can be a member if he has access to a computer'.

Of course you can pay for that entertainment if it works for you. But there are better things to spend money on than a computer game (unless you feel like being a pro gamer that lives on welfare and spends all his money on games).

Not at all, who are you to tell people how to spend their money? People decide for themselves, what's more important to you is less important to others.

My entertainment is important to me, so i pay the bill. I have no problem paying for things, buying whatever i need or want. I'd rather keep my subscription than buy clothes that i don't need or a video game that i don't want.

Agreed. Runescape is a bargain for the hours and hours of play you get. The only problem I have with people is when they spend money on lattes, games, eat out a lot, etc...and then they have no money and whine about it. As long as you are careful with your money and don't spend your whole life on Runescape (ie...it becomes a problem) I see no problem in shelling out $5 for a game a month (hell people who play golf or other sports easily spend more than the $60 a year spent on a year of Runescape).

5 dollars for a computer game. You payed 500-1000 bucks on the computer, why did you get it if your not going to do anything on it? That money could be used for SO much better things. If you are this concerned about 'spending money on unimportant things', why are you on a computer? To me this sounds like your saying 'you dont have money for important things, stop buying members' What are you going to spend that 5$ on? Chicken Wings? Chicken Wings are good, they dont last 30 days.

eh, with $60 extra I could get one game. mhm. and most games I only play for about a month, then they never see daylight again. So yes, I think my money is invested wisely. 8)
